Just wondering whether Nick Barmby has been chasing any of the recent managerial vacancies.
I would have thought the Barnsley job would be a good opportunity for him.

He's had offers, but he doesn't want to move, maybe Barnsley is close enough for him to be interested.

I wonder whether he's being a bit too choosey. He did a decent job for us, but he's up against more experienced managers. Somewhere like Doncaster to build a team and his reputation would also be good for him.

Has he been put off managing? I didn't think it was something he wanted to pursue?

He said he didn't want to Manage any other Club than City. Maybe he'll go for another to prove a point but I think he'll go into coaching of some sort. He'd be good at being a coach here, him and Deano at some point.

Nicky B could install some grit determination into players like Stewart. The confidence to not give up just like Barmby when he came on off the bench and made an impact.

Deano could give Simpson some tips on how to stick the ball in the net...

Can't see NB going back into management TBH - I think he'd have been well suited to looking after City's juniors or reserves and then taking it from there. Maybe that might happen when the dust settles sometime in the future?

Certainly can't see him moving from the area after years of a nomadic existence and after returning to his spiritual home.

    No, he couldn't.

Remember Stewart under Barmby? He was gash.

I think barmby will go back into management. I used to work with Shaun rush (old fitness coach). Nick has said he'll give him a job if and when he gets back into management. As they are good pals and Shaun is still unemployed I think nick wont be messing him around.

Took my lad down for his City training at the Centre Of Excellence on a Monday night think it was September or October last year and Barmby was coaching a team of lads from Newcastle, they had come down for a match against the City lads, looked U14/U15.

Maybe he should have stepped down from a 'caretaker manager' role and learned the job under Brucie....

Doncaster Rovers would be the ideal job for Nick Barmby imo. A nice little drive in the morning to work. Its not as though Nick needs the money but would get him out of the house for a few hours.

Barnsley are a sinking ship and Nicky B would do well to leave that one alone, imo.

I spoke to him a few weeks ago and he said he didn't think he would ever get back into football and was enjoying life away from it. I guess after time he may become restless and change his mind.
