He's been missing from the last two squads and I haven't seen mention of an injury or an acknowledgement that he's been dropped. I don't know about you but I'd rather be criticised for a stupid sending off than be totally forgotten about.
Clive, Wootton has been better than him and Pearce has shown good form this season. Although Im a huge fan of Lees, he was a little shaky at the start of the season and deserved to be dropped. I'm sure he will work his way back into the team as he is more than good enough to be starting in a strong championship team let alone ours Im just glad we have good options in our defensive positions at the moment and that shows with Lees struggling to make the team.
He's not even been on the bench, though, Josh. Wooton is a better footballer but I'm not sure that he's a better defender.
Ah k, not sure why he hasn't been on the bench. He could have an injury or something then I just think Wootton is on better form at the moment, as I say Im a huge fan of Lees and in form is still our best defender imo but he was making some poor mistakes early this season.
Perhaps Lees' enforced break will do him some good. Will help him to focus on what he needs to do to dislodge either Warnock or Pearce. Competition in this area given that its been our weak spot for the last couple of seasons is no bad thing.
Bogger's has it right I think, Lees needs some time to reflect and get his head sorted again. He's not as good as he was, and probably because he's young and been thrown in at the deep end for a while now. Wootton is putting him under pressure and pearce is too. No doubt that a couple of weeks out of the limelight will be great for young Tom. We should have a better version anytime soon.
Agree with a lot said above, but he has an injury. Said it on BBC radio Leeds after reading out the Newcastle squad Lees would clearly make the bench due to his ability to cover right back as well. In fact we may even see him there against Millwall. McDermott will probably rest Byram for that one as its a clear 3 points on the board for us either way.
Could be a good opportunity for McD to rest the entire first team. Surely our reserves could win this one. What are you testing Boggers? Nuclear weapons?
On Sky Sports text BMD said he took Byram off after 60 minutes against Newcastle because he was struggling - When asked if he meant struggling with hip injury or fitness the manager shrugged his shoulders and said he (Byram) was sore and they will asses it.
Pretty sure he played the whole 90 minutes against Newcastle mate, thought it was the Burnley game he came off after an hour.
Do either of you call your Mac Brian by any chance? No, this is an office compooter. It makes Amstrads look quick!!!
