All the **** that VW are in. How many more? Rumours that BMW and Merc also been up to no good.

Could cost thousands of jobs and billions in fines.

So a few questions for you.

Will this drive car prices up across the board?

Do you own or have done a German car. How do you rate them?

Are you a diesrl or petrol person?

    One for the MrRaw types.

Should all big cars be banned and everyone should drive around in a shopping trolley with a hair dryer engine?

On R4 Friday, there was a guy said that BMW are the only maker who've come out and said they don't do what VW has done. He also said the silence from the other companies was deafening! <doh>

He also said that in the next few weeks there'll only be 2 types of lawyers. Those that work for VW and those about to work for VW <laugh>

No ones taking my car off me mate! She's my baby!

I drive a BMW cos I'm a ****er, 5 of my last 6 cars have been BMW's and they are ****ing great cars.

Current is a 430d so I was concerned they might have been implicated, glad they have come out clean.

It's a major ****ing scandal mind, people are looking at serious jail time for this, VW are such a reputable company as well and make very good cars, you do fear that if they are at it the smaller companies probably are as well, and that could have such huge effect it's scary.

I'd think personally mate if one is doing it then most are, car makers will routinely buy and dissect each others cars to get ideas on the technology, so I'd imagine they were all aware this was going on, naive to think they didn't follow suit.

There must be a financial advantage to the car makers or why would VW, such a huge company, biggest seller in the world last year, take the chance?

I wonder how they got caught, grassed by BMW maybe?

Vw also own seat and Bugatti don't they among others! (Audi as well I think)

VW historically hold value better than almost all other "ordinary" make cars. My brother in law sold his recently and got a great price! Bet he's glad he got rid now

They own Seat, Skoda, Bugatti, Bentley, Bugatti, Lambroghini, Porsche, Ducatti bikes, Scania & Audi mate, this is a massive deal!

Apparently only the Audi A3 had this rogue part like, I doubt it was on the prestige brands.

    A what? Ha.

Joking aside mate, my theory is just that people notice certain cars more, people not indicating is standard in most cars. And tapping the brakes, that winds me right up. On, off, on, off. ****ing idiots (this was this morning, a Nissan Quashqi for reference...).

Funnily enough re the tapping of brakes.. I was behind a guy doing this. I am normally a fairly decent driver but I thought "w*nker". I drove up at speed to him and stopped about 3mm away. His arse dropped right out and he then showed me his accelerator worked. Boy did he shift.

Not used it for 6 months cos you were aboard.

    What were you aboard of?

A small boat like captain pugwash. Are you a syrian people smuggler?
