Just what i didn't want to hear,On bbc site if Modric goes Spurs Will move for Joe Cole!.What's going on,Leay say's he's not for sale at any price,Harry say's a bid of around 35 million will be hard to Turn down, and on the Chelsea they think they,ve got him. It's really beginning to p*ss me off.
True, But, there's little point in trying to hang onto a player whose head is elsewhere (ask the goons)
The one thing that does worry me is the ****ing cheek of Abramovich. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's luxury yacht has moored in Croatian waters, as Tottenham wait for their Croatian midfielder Luka Modric to fly to London from his homeland for talks about his future. Full story: Daily Mirror Surely that is some form of tapping up? Has Levy and 'Arry not made it perfectly clear that he is not for sale, then just by chance Abramovich finds his yacht parked in Croatian waters.
That story is so full of holes. I don't think Roman's even on the yacht at the moment!! The mirror??? says it all. I think Modric will be told to stay one more year and if you dont improve he will have a verbal agreement to leave next summer.
SSN have the "story" too. I think most Spurs fans realise that if we don't improve, get back in the CL, etc, then Modric, and probably others will leave. I hope Levy can convince him to stay for at least another year. But, like I said, if his head is elsewhere......
Its a long old way to sail to Croatia. It'd take you weeks. Either Abramovich is extraordinarily and unnecessarily obsessed to sign Modric, or the mirror is lying. I think the latter, as Abramovich probably has a fleet of private planes.
Very true, solid. However, it DOES seem a bit of a coincidence - I don't like convenient "coincidences". Of all the places in the world his yacht could be, it just HAPPENS to be in Croatia??
I'm more inclined to believe it's a coincidence rather than Roman has planned an elaborate boating route to arrive in Croatia at the same time Modric is there. Especially when it appears Roman himself is not even onboard. That's not to say it's not true but it all seems a little far fetched when he can get on a plane at any time and be anywhere in europe within a few hours. Be interesting to see what comes out of the alleged Modric / Levy meeting. I'm expecting Modric to confirm his desire to stay and help spurs, never wanted to leave etc and some behind doors agreement reached regarding next summer if C.L football is not obtained.
Of course, he could always have gone with the sole reason to attempt to sway Modric's decision, but used his boat so that it looks like its a coincidence that his leisurely cruise happened to take him there at the same time Modric was there, to aviod anybody accusing him of "snapping-up". A direct flight there would look far too bait. But I am a synical sod. So this elaborate ploy could just be the product of my own twisted mind.
Didn't you know, according to Sky Sources Modric booked a conference room at the Northumberland Premier Inn and is handing in his transfer request direct to Levy as we speak?
Just heard also that Roman's private space hopper is currently parked in one of the Premier Inn's parking spaces. Co-incidence???
IMHO, if Modric wants to go then screw Roman out of £45 mil, keep Krancjar and play him in Modders position (was brilliant when he covered during Modric's injury). Then use the money, along with whatever else we get for the deadwood, to get some decent strikers and a central defender
Whether we like it, or not, his head HAS been turned. Now, either Levy can turn it back - or Levy can just tell him "you're going nowhere" - or, unlike the Goons, we will have to accept that there's no point trying to hang onto a player whose head is elsewhere. In which case, as I, and others, have said, we screw that slimy Russian **** for every last penny we can get.
