Not directly a Spurs issue, but the effect on Sandro and future signing of Brazilian players is. There would appear to be some serious fallout from the Olympic defeat, whether that was a final straw I'm not sure, but the booing at their match last weekend is fairly unprecedented. It would seem there's some favourites who have beaten the chop, but our Sandro doesn't look like one of them, not even making the bench, Romulo who plays locally taking his spot, Ganso (a player we're linked with) dropped from the squad altogether. There also seems difficulty prising Brazilian players away atm, with the likes of Leandro and Neymar opting to stay in their homeland. Could it be to stay in the limelight surrounding the upcoming World Cup? The likes of Chelsea signing Oscar is an obvious exception, but understandable as they're CL holders, and they have first on the teamsheet names in Ramires and Luiz, although the latter may have to watch it, as the link below says the manager is keen on two more local CB's Dede and Rever. A concern for a Brazil international coming to Spurs might mean they're off the Brazil managers radar with no CL, in a very important period in Brazils history. http://elephant1-restoration.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/brazil-drop-ganso-for-south-africa-and.html
There's suddenly a lot of money at the top of Brazilian football, so certain clubs are getting uppity at the thought of their best players moving to Europe to improve - despite that being what the best South American players have done for decades.
Is that right hbic, would explain Leandro having a contract on 100k/wk being prepared for him to stay I think I read.
If Sandro's not going to make the bench I wish they wouldn't ****ing bother picking him. The more time he can get to work with AVB the better, he's behind the rest at the moment but I expect he'll soon be back to his best if he stays off the physio's table.

Yes, they did - Juninho certainly did the business at Middlesbrough (unlike the majority of his teammates), and Sandro has certainly contributed.
Serious about Bebe? Honestly. When someone says Bebe, I think of South Park, thats how anonymous the Portuguese version is.
One thing to note about the current Brazil squad, as noted by the Corporate Jolly as well as their performances in friendlies - their defence is solid, their attack is (on paper) something truly potent...but their midfield is currently lacking, so the team can blitz the makeweights to their hearts content but once they come up against a team that can defend they run out of ideas remarkably fast, whilst previous Brazilian teams were capable of either doing something to unlock the defence the defence or, in the case of Romario in '94, had someone who could bury a half chance that came their way.
France has had some hideous flops too though, Lidls. South Americans do tend to find it hard to adjust, not just Brazilians. There are some notable exceptions, but Veron and Forlan are two examples of players that have starred elsewhere and not been able to replicate that form in the Prem.
Robinho looked great in 19 games - it was just the away games where he faltered. Bloody hell did he falter...
