He got a terrible Scotland team into the playoffs.

Levein and alky Burley couldn't achieve that in a shockingly bad group with a better squad of players.

Maybe we were too harsh on the bold Berti.

Or perhaps those idiots at the SFA should have let Souness take over instead of giving the job to a jakey.

Time for them to go cap in hand to the big man and beg him to take over for the world cup qualifiers. Scotland will top that group with Souness at the helm.

    <doh>

We really have fallen a fair distance from the "glorious failure" days.

Levein made a rip roaring cows erse of that group. Anyone who thinks Gary Caldwell is an international standard player needs put in a straightjacket.

PLAY SOME FUCKING STRIKERS CRAIG! <grr>

I don't think Levein is up to the job but who is? Who's going to take the Scotland job if we get rid of Levein?

We're a mediocre team with a mediocre manager.

Walter's not doing anything these days...

Strachan I think could do a job with Scotland, Levien is awful he thinks we're ****in' San Marino they way he sets the team out.

Good shout with the Chesmeister <ok>

Either him, Souness or Dalglish would be my choices.

I'd give Levein another crack at the whip, he got off to a bad start and we have got better as time has progressed.

But we need to organise friendlies against teams that we should beat, so our FIFA ranking climbs, and if we can't beat them, then we sack Levein before we're staring at WC humiliation.

Scotlands problem is our defence, Hutton is gash again, Caldwell and Berra are our top 2 CB <yikes> and Bardsley is a right-footed LB. Midfield has potentiol, though we lack a Souness type enforcer and Goodcock (what a ****in miss!!) could be a player, though he's made a **** of it moving to Blackburn IMO.

defence is pretty gash. I would like to see bardsley at RB. I think he's a decent player. Caldwell and Berra are terrible. **** knows who to play at LB either. apart from that I think we have a solid team.

Correct about Hutton, he's terrible these days and seems to have really lost his way through injury. I'd like to see Bardsley at right back and either Whittaker or Wallace at left back.

Caldwell and Berra need shifted ASAP, hopefully Danny Wilson can get a loan deal in January to get some match fitness because we're really short on decent centre halfs.

Midfield seems fine, plenty of excellent players in there and a lot of people fighting for places, we're obviously sorted for goalkeepers with McGregor being the current number one but Gordon will be challenging to get it back.

Up front we lack quality, Miller is made of glass and is on the downward slope, Goodwillie lacks composure although will grow into a quality player and Mackail-Smith needs a strike partner.
Fletcher is our best striker and should be begged to come back to the squad. Its a shame Boyd is a fat lazy shite as he had the talent to be a top strikers, just badly lacked attitude.

The difference in skill between the Scots and Spain last night was clear for all to see. While our team is full of clumsy donkeys like Caldwell and Hutton, the best manager in the world isn't going to do much better than Levein.

The problems with Scottish football were identified 30 years ago by Rinus Michels, but **** all was done. His recommendations were ignored and the country has stood still while others have surpassed us, and we struggle to beat the likes of Liechtenstein. Since Ernie Walker's 'think tank', we've had the McLeish report. Let's hope that we finally get some action, but I fear we'll simply commission another report in a few years time when we fail to qualify for the next World Cup.

    We're in a good position ...

I agree that we give Levien another chance but he needs to set up friendly's whenever available against teams that Scotland are capable of beating to:

    1) Build confidence
    2) Build a system
    3) Up out rankings

If he fails to do that, he needs binned well before WC qualifers!

My ideal choices of Manager would be 1) Souness 2) WGS 3) Moyes

We have two top keepers fighting for No1: McGregor/ Gordon with decent back up in Marshall/Alexander

Bardlesy needs to switch to RB or maybe even CB...He's strong in the tackle, passes well and could move the defence forward.

When Wallace gets back fit, you have him ready for LB.

Midfield is really strong with Brown, Fletcher, Adam, Bannan, Morrison, Dorrans all fighting for a place in Midfield.

Also, we have Forrest n Wylde coming through n doing great at Celtic n Rangers with hopefully a few more promosing players ... heard Rangers have some decent wee CBs!

Fowards , Millers time is up in my opinion - need to concentrate on the future!

Naismith should be played off a "number 9" Also, great back up with Snodgrass and what about McCormack???

Mackail Smith has been a good find if he keeps this up! Badcock needs to get games and stop being a greedy wee ****e. We also have to get Fletcher back in the squad and get O'Connor in as back up.
