Just back from Kenya with Saints Foundation; thanks again to all those that sponsored me. Amazing experience and a real eye opener to what some people have to put up with; I'll post some photos later. The Nicola meet was postponed but i still have all your questions ready. The only football news we received was while sat in the pitch black, on a country track, in the middle of nowhere when the mini bus broke down! We were getting a little apprehensive when someone received a text message.... Goooal. Then the next 45 minutes brought news if the three goals and win against Brighton. We had a mighty great sing song to let most of Kenya know who was top of the league and that probably scared any potential danger away!! I won't harp on about the worst human depravation I've ever seen, but when people start moaning on the forum about not getting what they want, i may just respond with a photo or two. Be grateful for what you have folks and thanks again to those who sponsored.
Glad you had a good time. I spent 3 months in Tanzania a few years back and the poverty I saw was shocking, no doubt the same things as you've seen. Ever since I've been eternally grateful for what I've got. It makes my blood boil when I hear some complaining that we shouldn't give money to foreigners through the aid budget. Anyway, well done on your efforts. I'll be hoping to go if they do something similar again.
Welcome back mate -where you have been puts it all in perspective i guess. Would like to hear your experiance and how the 12 days panned out. pretty much business as normal here, a slight hiccup yesterday but otherwise the usual Poyet moaning and links to players in the loan market. oh yes, and we are still top of the league!!!!!!!
ive always said to people if they think they're life is bad look to africa well done on your trip - i look forward to hearing more details
Hi Dan, who was that? Pm me if you don't want to use names. Thanks for welcome back guys. I'll post a link to some photos/journal when sorted. Hopefully new date in December for NC meet
Welcome back, FLT. Perhaps you can write an article about the trip and what you saw. Personally, I would like to read of your experience. Cheers
