Have we finally become a team that talks the talk and then follows it up with action? If that is the case, and our newest signing is a portent for the future, then bring it on. I have often wondered how we expect progress without doing anything about improving the squad and the summer window is usually awash with nothing happening. The rumours surrounding us appear to actually have some bite attached for once and full marks to all concerned if we actually plan to have a plan and follow it up with full force. I was very skeptical about our new manager and the support he probably wouldn't get and yet perhaps there is something fresh in the air down at Ashton Gate that point the way to a brighter more cohesive future. The jury is still out and the decisions still to be made might tip the balance one way or another, but nonetheless I have been woken up from my usual boring summer slumber with a jolt to my system. I await with baited breath to see what happens next to excite my palette and perhaps, just perhaps, we are starting to wake up to the realities of the difficult road ahead in the Championship and actually doing something positive to maintain a possible challenge or at least consolidation.
O'Neill could be the central midfielder we have wanted for many years and someone who has been there and done that.
