Graysons starting team will probably reflect the type of football he wants to go for this season. If he wants to stick with his very attacking style from last year (which, to be fair, got us to a position we probably didn't expect at the start of the season), then I suspect he'll want to keep both Gradel and Snodgrass, supported by Howson/McCartney/Paynter/Becchio. That means his transfer tragets will probably ALL be about the defence and, possibly, a holding/defensive midfielder. But with few player-sale funds, he might not get the defensive quality he needs. So expect a roller-coaster season like last year with plenty of 4-3's (both ways)! Or he might decide to scale back the attacking-minded approach. If so, I suspect he might let one of Snodgrass/Gradel go, to get some good funds in to spend on better quality defenders/midfield. So we might expect a more defensive approach and more 1-0's. It's a hard call for Simon knowing that last year's approach wasn't quite good enough, but whether to change tack completely? ....but my guess is he's trying to set up for more of the same with a defence that will still leak, but hopefully 20 goals less than last year!
