Couple of articles about some exes this weekend of non stop rip roaring football action...did anyone else suffer the England game? Vuckic and Merino. https://www.geordiebootboys.com/new...le-prospect-haris-vuckic-is-finding-his-feet/ And https://newcastletoons.com/2019/10/13/letting-mikel-merino-leave-was-a-big-mistake/ Any players you think weren’t given a real chance or we sold too quickly? Jon Dahl Thomassen was one for me we should have kept. Played completely out of position and with zero support but was clear there was a footballer there.
Mbabu. Literally never looked bad in a Toon shirt. Sure Hugo Viana was played out of position a lot as well. Hard with Merino as he had a release clause and wanted to leave.
Also, are we going to hound out Joelinton? One week people are slagging him off in a thread. Next week he did every right bar score and then he's back to not being good enough
Could make a half decent squad out of a lot of the players pushed out to quickly: GK - Foster RB - Tavernier CB - Yanga M'Biwa CB - Mbemba LB - M'Babu CM - Merino CM - Abeid RW - Cal Roberts CAM - Vuckic LW - Thauvin CF - Mitrovic
Don't forget a few of these chose to leave as the club or the style of play in the first team didn't fit their way of playing. What I would say is that we appear to be able to identify youngsters with potential, but then don't develop it. I know some players develop in their early twenties not late teens, but we have a few players there that were either not developed or were sent on loan to the wrong club when with us, it's only a few moves later in their career that they start to show what they can do.
Pushed out may have been the wrong choice of words but I doubt if any of the players in that team bar Mbiwa, Mbemba, Merino and Mitro (weird they are all "M"'s) ever played more than 30 EPL games for the club combined!
Mitro hatrick tonight, think he's scored more goals in the last 2 weeks than our whole team this season, maybe wrong and he's still ****e!
Apparently Tavernier is getting grief from the Rangers fans. Amazing how short the memories of football fans are.
