Just whatever happened to the right to free speech. Now i know this has nothing to do with our club , but i do feel this is political correctness gone mad.

Now i know it was a terrible tragedy , but so was hillsborough , rangers . heysel etc etc.

A small club here is playing the big playground bully at their home for the first time and surely this is completely over the top? I wonder if the same furore would have happened if it wasn't ManU?

Personally i think that on too many occasions these memorials are used by clubs to influence matches.

    Am i being too harsh?

I suppose it comes down to the right to be offensive or just tasteless, just as a point though there is no such thing as a right to free speech in the UK, we do not have a US style constitution.

If the supporter was mocking the Munich air disaster then fare enough stopping him from going to the FA cup matches and be made to take it off of youtube would be sufficient punishment.

But banning for life is a bit much.

And which sad southern prick put the complaint in to start with????

Due to austerity measures and recent cut backs free speech is now available for £2.99*

As for the ban; it's harsh but the act can be deemed as offensive.

    * Based on a 12 month contract. Some forms of speech may be charged separately at a higher rate by your speech provider. See terms and conditions for details.

  6. I think the sad, sick bastard should be banned from ever going to a football match again!

I believe in freedom of speech, but there are certain things which shouldn't be tolerable.
Racism isn't allowed, and neither should be mocking the poor victims of an awful tragedy.

It's like when people mock the poor souls who died for us in WWI and WWII, they just claim that they're allowed freedom of speech, but we all know the people who mock the fallen heroes should be dealt with severely. What did those heroes die for? So 50 years later heartless ****s were free to mock them.

It comes down to the saying, "I do not agree with a word you say but i will defend to the death your right."
Either by Voltaire or Evelyn Beatrice Hall.

I believe that you should be able to talk about or joke about anything.

Words themselves are harmless but the context you apply to words affects how they are supposed to be understood or viewed.

I suppose it's the case that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it's how you voice it that causes problems or matters, I always like the idea that everyone has the right to be stupid, but sometimes people abuse the privilage.
