Which of the following scenarious would you prefer? A) West Ham and Reading fall away, we go on a good run and end up winning the league with a few games left to go; B) We win the league on the final day of the season in dramatic style; C) We win the play-offs?
A] West Ham and Reading don't necessarily have to fall away, but to win the league with a game or two in comfort, would be soooooo nice.
Remember that C isn't in the play-offs, it's WIN the play-offs; day out, trip to Wembley, more TV money...
hmmmmm tough one that. It would be brilliant to go into the last few games knowing we´ve achieved it, and we can relax and start partying early, but it would also be brilliant win it on the last day of the season (with West Ham missing out on the autos, Brighton missing out on the play-offs and Pompey, well pompey will down way before that). Obviously it would be great to win at Wembley with 45,000 Saints fans but I prefer to not have to wait that long!
I was about to accuse the OP of being a nutter, then realised that quite a few of you want an exciting finish. Do you want me and Cortese to be in intensive care? I want it sewn up before the last game, so I can enjoy my first taste of the hospitality suite without any worrying moments.
Definitely A, I can't deal with anything else, too much pressure! And being comfortably the best team in the league is a nice feeling. I assume.
Said B but im not sure i can handle it! But the thought of how good it would feel to see Cork Storm in a 30 yarder for his first goal of the season in the last minute to send us up! That would just be immense
No, I want a repeat of last season. Basically up, but with a slim mathematical chance of not doing it to allow just a little tension. Not too much mind.
Struggling to believe some of these comments! I want us up and clear of the pack as soon as possible. If we don't get an automatic position, the third placed team often bottles it. This season will be extremely close. Most people probably appreciate that the two top spots are between Saints, West Ham and Reading. Of the three, the momentum is clearly with Reading who seem unstoppable at the moment whereas West Ham appear to be better away from home. I wouldn't be surprised if Reading came first either but they seem overdue a few poor results! I've got a funny feeling about them and have my doubts as to whether Allardyce will delivery the goods. What worries me is the games in hand as I would like to see our oppostion lose these. After watching the football on TV this afternoon, I feel that the pundits aren't wrong and Leeds will make a serious, late bid.
