    Ok, your arsenal manager

you can either do as arsenal seem to be doing at the moment selling big players for large amounts, and keeping most of the money to pay off the debt.

The good thing about this is we can pay the debt off alot sooner, meaning we'll be able to just spend and spend without worrying sooner and our younger players get more experience etc, and we should maintain our top 4 position.

the downsides are top 4 is the most we can really hope for, and we'll constantly lose the best players etc

OR you can do the opposite, and spend quite alot now and hope for quicker success

obvious plus points are we get all the good players, and a great team, which could result in winning alot more, which would equally give us more money and happiness

Bad points are we could still end up not winning and just need even more to get back in the black

    So what would you do?

  2. You could choose the players that have a proven record and who are likely to fit in. Success will come if you have the right mix. Remember we have been close to it over the past three years only to somehow blow it towards the end. With success comes more cash to address the liabilities. Why look to paying off the debt quicker if you have a half empty stadium as a result. Now that would be a worse recipe for the future.

I really do think that if you can strike the balance on the field of play, a top signing or two can add so much to the confidence and outlook of a team and of course the fans. If on the other hand you buy a player that is much cheaper and who does not give you a marked improvement on what you had ( on the basis that quality costs more ) then you don't get much further ahead so that would not make sound financial sense.
