My personal thoughts would be to ask the big CLUB sides to take part in a tornament in
Quatar some time in the winter of 2022 or 2023

Then do a re-bid for a World cup in the Summer of 2022

That means that no World football leagues would have their normal fixture lists altered

The clubs could always renage on the deal at the last moment

Failing that get the young boys that are now about 10-15 years old to go on strike

when 2022 comes around say we won't play in Quatar

Sod it, cancel Qatar and bring it to the nation that has some of the best support in the world and a plethora of stadiums to fit the bill.

It has been widely accepted that both the 2018 and 2022 bid was sullied by the delegates demands (bribes!) I think the whole process should be re-done..

England after Euro 96 stabbed Germany in the back attempting to hijack Germanys 2004 World cup bid, breaking an agreement with Germany not to and making Bobby Charlton look a **** in front of Beckenbauer and the German FA.

England played numerous odd friendlies e.g Qatar and Trinidad for money and favours not due to the need for competitive friendlies.

Well the back stabbing lost the Scandinavians and German votes ... Money wasn't enough to buy others e.g Qatar and Trinidad.

That was the game. England lost.

There is absolutely no doubt that Qatar bought this world cup and FIFA delegates and that total a$$hole Blatter should hang their heads in shame. It's beyond belief that the weather problems were not known at the time of the vote and it was simply brushed aside in the self interest, political and financial self interest of the FIFA executive committee. How else can it be explained when a minnow country with no footballing heritage and no football infrastructure but extraordinary deep pockets win the right to stage the most prestigious tournament on Earth?????

The bid was for a summer tournament. If it is now deemed unsafe, the tournament should be awarded to the runner up nation. Simple as that.

2018 also smacked of shenanigans but England were never likely to win, despite an impressive bid as we are simply disliked by too many within UEFA & FIFA. Blatter hates us. Platini really hates us. The good deeds we did from 1939 to 1945 are now confined to history and our apparent arrogance got the better of us. It's a shame it ended this way as I was looking forward to watching a game at Ashton Vale......ooops, maybe that would have made our bid invalid?

    This ^^^^^^^^^

Accusations of corruption are akin to throwing stones in a greenhouse as far as the FA are concerned.

Whatever peoples views are FIFA have always said they want to use the WC to promote football to more obscure nations. The media, FA and premiere league are moaning like **** and trying to get other European associations on side to hijack the whole Qatar thing. It's all about money and disruption to the hallowed premiere league season. ****ing shock horror, the World cup may be played mid English season.

Do the media and the FA give a **** about non prem clubs? Do they ****.

    **** the Media.
    **** the Premier League
    **** the FA

Good luck Qatar, enjoy the world cup.

Be funny as **** if England didn't qualify<doh>

I don't really care too much about Qatar getting the World Cup. They bribed their way towards it, but so did everyone. We just offered very little in return. We apparently promised Sepp Blatter a front-row seat to the royal wedding. He missed out on Pippa Middleton's cracking ass, but he got a few million in dirty oil money. The deal also helped to fund Barcelona through their new sponsors, and allowed Qatar to throw money at PSG.

The bribery happened, and there's little we can do about it. In my mind Qatar are hosting the 2022 World Cup, but only if they can match their bid. The World Cup must happen in the summer, it must have air-conditioned stadiums, it must have street-drinking zones for anywhere a fan may be, and the infrastructure must be there. If I were president of FIFA, I would tell them that they have to have this pretty much ready two years before the tournament starts, otherwise they lose the World Cup and it is sent to the runner-up if they agree to being able to host the World Cup with little notice (I think USA were runners-up).

If FIFA agree to the World Cup being held in the winter, then Australia will (rightly) sue. If they get their money back then everyone else associated with the 2022 bidding will sue, and FIFA will crumble.

I would see this as a valid point from FIFA, but one that has yet to be backed up when it is South Americas turn, when will the likes of Bolivia and Ecuador get their turn? I doubt it will be before Mexico get third World Cup or Argentina

I would let it be played in Summer and when the competition is a flop and players get ill because of the heat, all major nations should subsequently boycott and ignore FIFA from then on and arrange alternative World Cups
FIFA are not fit to govern

It widely accepted that England did similar and tried to blag the 2006 world cup.

Lot of squealing from the gravy trough.
