I'm expecting the rumour mill to be ramped up to fever pitch in the summer as a lot of the so called 'big boys' come sniffing around Cisse.

This has got me thinking.... what would his value be now?

His strike rate is more than a goal a game, he's relatively young and seems to be improving all the time.

Given the Mandy and Torres fees I'd honestly say that Fat Mike should hold out for at least £40m IF he decides to cash in on him.

I hope he doesn't go to be honest but with our club you just never know.....

What do you think?

He seems like the kind of striker who goes on long scoring runs, and it'll be difficult to tell just how prolific he is until he has a dry spell. If he went to a massive team for loads of cash he'd be rotated a lot, and I'm not sure how he'd get on.

40-50 mio no question. He's a beast. And he can pass too. You wait till Demba starts chipping in again, we could be scary next year with another fullback/cb and some CB bodies...Obertan and Marveaux trying to get in the team.

Jelavic has been another cracking January signing, he's scored in just about every game he's played. Can't remember any january signings making such an impact as these two guys have.

£40 million?? <laugh><laugh> Hes only been playing in the PL since January! Im going to give him another 6 months of playing week in week out before I fully judge the lad, its all about consistency.

However, I have a feeling Ba will be off. He was brought in for nothing and will be out the door for however much his release clause is for, Cisse has meant the fans won't care anywhere near as much. Its a shame his goals dried up, I cant wait to see him in form again.

Think Andy Carroll.......

Aye £50m has to be a starting figure - and I agree, we couldn't replace him, not with anybody on this planet. He's not just a super clinical striker, but he seems absolutely no bother either.

He's just perfect and should be in line for some end of season awards. Oops silly me, he'd need to sign for Spurs or Man City for that ....

He's been prolific wherever he has played. In Germany he scored virtually 50% of their goals

Most teams (not including City & Liverpool) are not naive enough to just disregard all of the factors which are making him a great player for Newcastle. The fact he has his pal Ba, the camaraderie of the side plus other factors which we're maybe oblivious to, all play a part in how well a player is performing. To assume you can buy them and integrate them into your own set of egotistical money grabbers, and they will play exactly the same is just ridiculous.

The worrying thing is this.

If Cisse could be sold for £40m+, how many Carr gems would Ashley think he could buy? Pardew will be saying we need to strengthen with 3 or 4 decent players in order to compete in Europe whilst maintaining league position. How many other Europa teams that finished 5th or 6th have a striker of cisse's quality?

It may turn out to be luxury we cannot afford :(

I hope I am wrong as this has been the most enjoyable season in years and I hope it can be maintained for years to come.

Not sure why people are basing the Torres and Carroll deals on future transfers. Torres had a buy-out clause of 50mil (the only reason he went for such a high price) and Liverpool bought Carroll as a direct result of that for 35mil (once again the only reason he went for such a high price).

People are incredibly naive if they don't realise that and expect all transfer fee's to all of a sudden be that high.

He's worth a lot but we shouldn't be selling players for what they're worth, we should sell them for more.

Cisse's value should be around 25m at the moment, but I'd sell him for no less than 40-50mil
