I think a lot will depend on how much you sell players like Alderwiereld, Trippier, Rose for, assuming they all go. Even though you ****ed it up, there’s still some CL revenue too.
Outgoings will largely fund the spend and Levy will pay down a chunk of the stadium debt. The gross spend could be quite large though, as I expect a few to move on. Big summer for Spurs.
Went for £75m-£100m. We'll need to be spending big on the central midfield, either with one or two top players. Those we've been linked with are all circa £50m+. Then we'll need a top RB who won't come cheap, especially if we try for AWB. Replacements for Toby and Eriksen, although Eriksen's departure may see us go 433 and so his replacements will be the CMs, whilst Toby doesn't need to be replaced with an expensive CB as Dave Sanchez will take over as first choice. Then hopefully beef up the squad to improve the quality in depth.
I think £75-100m gross is about right, though they will recoup most if not all of that in player sales. Trippier might be heading to Italy, that will probably net them £40m + alone. I think they will make a profit. Net spend will be 0 or thereabouts
The average NFL team is worth $2.7 BILLION...the Dallas Cowboys are worth $5 BILLION, the least worth team is $1.6 BILLION....Spurs ground cost £1 BILLION, yet unlike the NFL they still have a team to build but spent all the money on the ground
Our net spend up until last season has been constrained by FFP regulations. The season at Wembley made more than £100m profit, as will last season because of the CL run. Now the new stadium is operational we have more than £100m extra revenue each year compared to WHL. So we can afford net spend of around £100m in the future. Plus we've got last summer's zero to catch up on. There is no need to pay off the stadium debt very fast.
If we broke down the rough valuations on who we ideally want/ need it'd work out: Ndombele - £60m Lo Celso - £60m AWB - £50m Joachim Andersen - £25m Squad beefing - anywhere between £30m-£50m. So say roughly £240m gross. We'll probably pick up around £150m in sales, with Eriksen, Toby and Trippier making most of that up. Circa £90m net I'd say.
Eriksen and Toby are the only two we don't want to lose but with their contract situations we've known about their likely departures for the best part of a year. Thankfully we're already covered at CB with Dave Sanchez to take over as first choice (although another CB will be needed) but replacing Eriksen is gonna be a real ****.
Where is the option for "Who gives a ****"? Both Watford and Arsenal reached Cup Finals and didn't win anything. No one other than their own supporters is really interested in them either , but both are more interesting stories than Spurs imo.
£200 tops. Any more for a net seems a bit excessive? Maybe try Amazon. I haven't looked so may find one cheaper.
