Rumours that a fan has died during violence between Russian or Polish thugs.

Guess where the 2018 world cop is being held? Yep Russia

Will they throw Ireland and/or Croatia out for their fans kicking off prior to their game?

UEFA and FIFA have threatened to kick teams out of tournaments before because of the behaviour of their fans (such as England at the '98 World Cup and Euro 2000...whoops, wasn't supposed to remember that, was I?), but it will never happen. The only possible thing that would cause a team to be expelled mid-tournament is being found guilty of match fixing - but they didn't do anything to Denmark and Sweden in Euro 2004.

The Irish and Croatian fans were attacked by Polish masked fans weren't they?

Lverpool were thrown out in the 70's and got the other English team's banned as well.

It seemed like a three-way brawl - ten Poles, three Irish, and one Croat were arrested, and there's sod all other information as every report spends more time talking about Russian fans beating up stewards during the Russia/Czech Republic game.

That was post-Heysel - but it was the fault of the stadium and the police...

You were being equally selective by not mentioning the Poles who were the majority to get arrested when you mentioned the Irish and Croats.

It's very hard for police to tell who's to blame when it's all kicked off so arrests tend to be made of those in range rather than necessarily those at fault.

The accounts given seem to suggest that it was the Poles who turned up to start it so you can hardly blame the other fans getting arrested for fighting back, which they would have still been arrested for.

That said the Croats have been caught on tape throwing chairs and kicking off with the police to free their mate that got arrested too. At the end of the day, as unsavoury as it's been, it's still a minority.

Today's punch up, again, seems equal opportunities - Russian fans decided to celebrate Russia's national day by marching through the centre of Warsaw, Polish fans took exception to this and it led to scuffles and hurling anything sharp or heavy in their general direction. Whilst it was the Poles that led with the fists, given the animosity Poles have for Russians it was pretty obviously intended as incitement by the Russian fans.

Croatian fans also got into isolated scuffles with the police without Polish fans turning up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18398919

I was referring to this one, Notso.

I brought up the Polish involvement directly after it.
