I know he's out of our price league and his huge contract wages would kill any deal stone dead, but did anyone watch Adebayor today? Now that's what a holdup target man looks like. Cool and time on the ball - he was class and is justifying Sherwood's judgement now AVB has gone. His two goals were the icing on the cake for what was a stellar performance in that position. Now if only we could find someone close to that, it would stop the ball coming straight back at us and give our supporting midfielders the chance to get forward.
I did mention Ibrahimovic who was also out of our price range till I saw he was willing to go to Celtic. Spurs will not let Ade go but I have no idea bout the position with Ibrahimovic. To be honest I do not have any control over who we get. jck
I'm wondering if he's actually Tan. He's been telling us money is no object and we can have the pick of players. Either that or he's Tan's son's mate the painter, he's obviously been doing some scouting on our behalf.
I'm despondent that City won't sign any striker. Reminds me of the dreadful window 3 seasons ago when City brought in Jon Parkin to bolster the promotion charge.
If the player is willing to go to Celtic I say we can certainly offer a better deal than those lot. jck
Ibra wasn't being totally serious when he said he'd play for Celtic. For a start he said something along the lines of it'd be nice to finish a career there, as his friend Larsson did, but mainly just praised their fan base. He wouldn't exactly tear up his huge contract at PSG to earn bugger all (comparatively) playing in Scotland against **** opposition, and he certainly wont ever be coming to us!
