Ok I only saw highlights and read the reports, but what went wrong? I know I take the piss, but I'm genuinely interested in the Swans premier league campaign, and from what I saw, well there was only one team in it for the majority of the match. I haven't questioned the Swans technical or footballing ability to stay in the premiership, but I have questioned their doggedness in the past. After they battled against a no nonsense Stoke side to get a good result I thought that they had got the blend of flair and fight about right, don't get me wrong Molineux against a Wolves side fighting for their lives is never going to be easy, but I guess you would have taken a point before kick off.........you have to be a bit pissed off with that result..............there are at least three worse teams in the premiership than you IMO so I think you will be OK. It may have just been a "bad day at the office" but throwing away a two goal lead. and let's face it hanging on at the end has to be a bit of a worry.
Yes I'm a quick learner, something I can't say for Kairdiff!!!..................... please log in to view this image
Obviously not, or otherwise you would have learnt the correct way to spell the name of your capital city, and if that is your attempt at Welsh, well there is no K in the Welsh alphabet.............so I guess that makes you stupid on two counts ....................anyone like to comment on the Swan's display?
Yes! Vetch where are you!!!!!!.................................. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I think the boys got a bit leggy but Brendan made some daft subs which rocked our formation sufficiently as to have us scampering around chasing shadows. 2 points dropped there. Good thread, Proph. There must've been 20 points you could've taken the piss on, and you didn't. Respect.
"Vetch, where are you?" I'm here leader, but if I pass any comment, a certain moderator will get all antsy, and over protective, slap my wrists, maybe even delete me. Ah,if only I could think of something "ironic" to say!!!
"There must've been 20 points you could've taken the piss on",but we could have easily surpassed that total,Scott, which is why he refrained.
I agree with Scottswan - poor subs killed it in the end :O( ....Still I do like to look at the positives and overall we played excellent, so if we can learn that lesson and take the performance into the coming games, I think we should do well... We are still learning, just hope we learn fast! Good post.
As I say I take the piss, but I'm also a football fan, who is taking an interest in the Swans campaign, and I'll speak as I find, nothing to take the piss out of, we have let in a few late goals lately and have no room to lecture anyone, as I only saw the highlights it is hard to be subjective, but from what I saw and the reports I read, Swans ran the show and could have had 4 or 5, I was just suprised to see them fall apart in the last ten minutes, out of character, I just hope it doesn't get to be a habit..........I can't see Rodgers letting that happen, but away wins are going to be hard to come by in the premiership, and it was a shame you let one slip.
Oh please. Don't try to convince us that you want anything else other than for us to be relegated. Grow a pair and stop being so disingenuous ffs. Your posts over the years on 606 and here make it clear where you stand. You have been one of the first to weigh in when it comes to having a go at my Club and you have a long history of doing precisely that. Do you really "hope it doesn't get to be a habit"? I don't think so. You may fool some, but not me. These annoying threads of yours are becoming a habit when we don't get a win, with 'what went wrong?" being the predominant theme. As if you cared! Besides, this topic has been done to death elsewhere in discussions between those who matter - the Swans fans - but once again thank you for your interest.
And your opinion means what? You are getting me mixed up with someone who gives a **** about what an idiot like you "thinks" I want Cardiff to be more successful than Swansea no argument, that doesn't mean i want swansea to fail, there is no joy for me in seeing swansea slipping back below Cardiff, I want to see Cardiff climbing above swansea and have never made any secret of the fact, as for "growing a pair" practice what you preach, as for trying to make a fool of you, why would I bother? Nature has done a far better job of that than I could ever do I've commented on most of the swansea games this season, I've congratulated them on good performances, and criticised them for bad, but point out where I have ever wished a loss on them, you can't because I haven't. A lot of Swans fans have commented on my observations and opinions, some agree, some don't......thats football and fans for you, if they agree fine, if they don't agree well thats OK as well, I can quite happily take their criticism, they are decent fans...........and then there is you A selective memory, I notice you have conveniently "forgotten" my post congratulating you on your battling display against Stoke......what's a matter didn't it suit your agenda? You assume you know what I'm thinking, why don't you try to think for yourself instead? If you don't want to read the posts, well the answer's obvious, and before you tell me to stop posting on the Swans board..........why do you post as often (if not more often) on the Cardiff board than you do on the Swansea board? I like and respect a lot of the Swans fans and whilst I rarely agree with them, I'm happy to talk football with them, and to take the piss and indulge in football banter...........then there are people like you, more to be pitied than scorned.
Prophet Our fragility at the back, especially away from home, is well apparent to all Swans fans', no more so now with the absence of Caulker!! Garry Monk then came back 'earlier than expected' from injury, due to it & because of the loss of Tate, so there's been changes. Our club captain puts his body on the line, but unfortunately the pace of the premiership can be unforgiving, especially if your still carrying that injury, so the foundations are rather unstable, so to speak!! Any undue excessive stress & the foundations start to 'crumble'!! In my opinion, our otherwise fantastic manager, contributed to this too, due to unforced (the way I look at it) 'limp' substitutions!! We totally lost our shape & balance & the said foundations, indeed crumbled!! Our defence at the best of times, needs protecting!! That's what Leon Britton does so admirably. Why take him off?? But if your going to, you need to replace with like for like, not Andrea Orlandi!!!!! Then to make it worse, Dyer was taken off, so our whole team balance was 'rocked'!! We need to learn quickly, we can't afford anymore of this 'shooting ourselves in the foot'!! Never mind, Caulker & Agustien will be back soon, hopefully.....
Prophet - I do think you are genuinely interested in our Premier League campaign, probably as a bench-mark for how Cardiff would get on if you got promoted yourselves. But you do tend to over-respond, especially to HTR and Vetch, both of who you will never see eye to eye with. Don't spend so long trying to defend your arguments with lengthy justifications!
The point is this Prophy dear, your reputation goes before you, and it ain't a good one me flower!!................. please log in to view this image Vetch!...............................
In fairness, apart from the obvious on going (or hopefully ceased) issue between two posters, I can't ever remember Proph coming here doing whatever the internet forum equivalent of "windmilling and slinging insults" is. I've seen him defend himself a lot when Cardiff have been knocked, as we do with our team, but I can't remember many, if any, instances where he's derailed conversation on purpose. I think this is a good thread with valid points and questions and it's a shame it's been jumped on like this. If people want respect off others, they have to be willing to give it too.
my first post on this board so be nice please i watched the first half before i left for a nice 5-3 win, in that space you dominated possession, wolves barely strung more than 3 passes together and as i heard somewhere it was in general passing with a purpose, rather than passing it around the back then giving the ball away as soon as you enter the opposition half. it was clear that if you keep playing at that level you will get more points than the likes of wigan, wolves, and others at the bottom at the end of the season so keep up the good work to get a few of the big hitters in for my fantasy football team i need to take a few risks, amongst the cheapest midfielders who start every week are britton and allen. are they likely to start pretty much every week until january? i'm not bothered if they dont score goals for fun etc, but at that price range all i'm interested in is regular appearance points
