Alright lads, I think everyone can just tell by looking at the board that we're all very eager for Saturday. Now the question is what do we expect to see out of the game, besides three points ofcourse. For me- I'm always ranting and raving about attacking fullbacks and their importance, and again I start with this. I hope I see Ricco on the left and Elmo on right hand side of defense. I know a lot of people would be against this for their personal reasons, but for me I want to see positive football straight from the off. I'd like to see catts and muntari holding central midfield and keeping possession for us while also keeping us compact. Danny out on the left, Henderson on the right and Sess to roam and support Gyan upfront. I think it's fairly obvious to anyone who's watched a sunderland match, or even highlights in the last 2 months that we lack confidence and imagination going forward. The solution is a goal. It doesn't matter how this goal comes, a set piece, individual brilliance, an own goal for all I care. I just want to see an early goal so we feel comfortable throughout the match, and take some risks going forward. I want to see the front 4 guys bombing forward putting in everything they have to get on the end of a loose ball/stray pass. I want the team to stay compact, and be very wary of the channels where the likes of odemwingie will definitely be attacking. My biggest fear with our back 4 isn't when the ball is being played infront of us but rather when it's over our shoulder, where our obvious lack of pace is on show for everyone ie. Bardo's foul to give a PK away again city. More than anything I want to see a clean sheet, and smiles all around when the game is done and dusted. Am I just hoping for too much or is anyone else on the same positive, perhaps delirious, wave length as me??
Anything less than 3 points (unless WBA play as well as Real!) is out of the question. This is a must-win game.
haha i was hoping for specifics, with the three points just being a given. HOWEVER, I'm happy that everyone is just focused on one sole ambition- THREE POINTS
OK then, Gyan, Welbeck and Henderson (just to boost his confidence) to get a hat-trick apiece, to play really well, and for Catts not to get booked. I think that's pretty reasonable, no?
With Bruce again saying there will be changes, a non performance last weekend to beat all non performances I expect.. Henderson on the bench, for his sake and ours. An attacking game from the off. 3 points and a blood ang gut how from all players in red and white
I'd like to see us play like a team, one for all and all for one! If Richardson does play LB FFS make me eat my words son.
We, the fans, IF we get behind the team from the off, should help significantly. Jesus, the specifics you requested, Gyan, Wellbeck & Campbell to score. Not sure who'll score our goals in the second half tho. Will put my Doris Stokes head on and get back to you.
Oi Jesus, I just had a thought, have a word with yer old man HE could sprinkle some of his pixie dust on us.
I want to see gyan Welbeck and sess up front with catts muntari and steed in midfield with bardsley turner mensah and Elmo in defense and Gordon in goal And I expect nothing less than 3 points.
Specifics - 1. We will win 2-0. 2. Gyan to get both and miss a penalty at the death. 3. A defence full of defenders doing their job. 4. Henderson dropped you can't play like that and expect to play the next time. 5. A midfield who get stuck in and stop WBA playing. 6. No post match excuses from SB about injuries, refs decisions etc. 7. Oh yes 3 big beautiful fantastic mofoing points.
i expect us to somehow contrive to **** things up again. feeling a bit disenfranchised with us at the moment. prove me wrong brucie, if ever there was a time to do it, it would be now.
