This is a thread on the football non league forum so thought I would post one on here so what was the first away ground you went to? Sheeds can play to if you like
I think mine was against Port Vale in the 1988/89 season it was the play-off final which back then was over two legs can't remember anything before that
I think mine was away in the Gloucestershire Cup Final at Ashton Gate in September 1980(?) we won 1-0 Adian MacAffrey Goal.
i was mascot at watford as well. but i cant remember if it was this same game or the season after i was mascot. it was a long time ago obviously. all i remember about being mascot was david james was in goal for watford and he was their captain. steve yates was our captain. but i cant remember if my 1st game i was mascot or if it was the following season i was mascot.
Apart from Ashton Gate, which doesn't really count, White Hart Lane was mine..Chivers, Gilzean, Peters, Jennings...
Bristol Rovers at Eastville in February 1950 versus Crystal Palace. It predates my first visit to Ashton Gate by two months but my Dad and I left at half time because it was pouring with rain, and we could not manage to stand still on the Muller Road mudbank, the days before you put concrete terracing there. I still prefer red to blue and am deeply ashamed that my first professional match was at your old stamping ground. But I've learned to live with my problem!
Trashton 1980 0-0. Same season just a week before my first home game at Eastville 1-1 against Orient. We both went down that season
so sad you feel that way. if you really that ashamed then why tell us all about it? why are you even on the rovers board if your so ashamed of anything rovers? just asking
Griffin Park away to Brentford, Division 3, 1982. I got punched in the face, Bees fan just walked up to me and punched me - I was only 15 and about 5ft3
Yeah it was like welcome to West ****ing London small yokel. I couldn't believe it - first trip away and I get lamped out of nowhere - bloke just walked off as my three 15 year-old mates just stood there.
Bristol Rovers at Eastville in 1957 (I think) versus P N E and saw Tom Finney, not that I can remember much about the game. In those days Dad, a Rovers fan, took me 1 week to Rovers and next week to City. .
I see times have not changed much in the last 32 years, you still get punched in the face when people first meet you Eastville in the 80''s can't remember the score, the year but it was a night game if that helps, then the next 10-20 was just a drunken mess where I travelled all over the country away games.
Chester in April 2005, when we drew 2-2 after being 2-0 up. I'd already been there as a neutral however, so Northampton in November of that year will probably be mine. We lost 4-0 and it was a very bad day.
