"France coach Laurent Blanc took a swipe at England by suggesting a "really good side" would have punished their under-performance in Monday's 1-1 draw."

" Blanc said: "Regardless of who starts they just need to relax because we can't repeat the first 30 minutes against England."

"If we had played against a really good side it would have been over."

I guess a REALLY good side loses to sweden 0-2 .

And the poor one BEATS sweden 3-2 .

big gob , egg on face . .<whistle>

Clearly he wasn't claiming that France were a really good side.

And yes, the result yesterday just shows that this wasn't some quality, resurgent France team that we parked the plane infront of, which has been suggested.

I see you voted in the poll for a Ukraine win .

Was that another accidental vote ?

    Like the sweden one .

Maybe he was just being honest and saying he thought that's what would happen even though he wanted england to win. Nothing wrong with that- I would have voted for a draw.

No nothing wrong with that , thats why i asked him the question .

I voted for the sweden win too... and NOT accidentally .

I just thought it was strange to vote that england would lose BOTH matches. ???????<whistle>

    Absolutely - they really underperformed in 1984, 1998 and 2000 <doh>

Not that time. As I wrote in the thread, I thought we'd lose 2-1 and would do well to draw 1-1. Didn't happen in the end which I was surprised and pleased about :)
