Here is a list of player types, which would you prefer, choose one from each section. 1-5 (Physical)-----Tall, Strong, Quick, Agile, Stamina 6-10 (Skillset)-----Passer, Tackler, Organiser, Playmaker, Dribbler 11-15 (Style)----Direct, Patient, Firm structure, High energy, Counter attack
Deep Lying playmaker nothing flash just someone with a brilliant passing range, superior vision and a high level of football intelligence, we need a player who can dictate the direction and pace of our team whilst we're in possession, other plus points would be a decent level of fitness, a bit of pace and the ability to tackle.
Dont really see the point of this? Surely you want them to have several of these attributes? Plus it depends on which position they are going to play
Thats why you pick 3 from each section, its to pick up what traits people find most attractive, its also to see what traits people think we may be lacking What physical trait you prefer. What skills of player you prefer What playing style you prefer
I understand the structure. But surely you want more than one of them in each. Why have a tall player with no stamina? And surely in some situations I would want a player to counter attack but not all. Thats more tactics Sorry I just dont think it gathers a useful data for what we want or is required. We need all these things but at different times. Its about a balanced squad. Anyway I'll leave it there
Its picking the attribute you hold dear. The one you hold highest. Its not saying your ideal player has none of the other attributes, your just explaining the traits you like most. You'd just tick every box otherwise
I think the problem is that it's horses for courses. I'd want one CB to be an organiser and help martial the defence, I'm not so bothered about that in a striker. For a new striker or winger I'd go for pace, dribbler and high energy, whilst the DM I want has Stamina, Playmaker and Patience.
I'm with DH here that it's position dependent but if you're looking for a general preference Carrabuh as to attributes from each group we'd like to shine, i'd go: 1 Stamina 2 Passer 3 Counter
Sorry, I may have sabotaged the poll, I didn't really read the top and just picked 5 attributes I think I mostly prefer. Apologies for that. The attributes I picked is the ideal centre midfielder we should be looking for, deep lying playmaker with good work rate and tackling ability. Generally an all rounder who will be very comfortable on and off the ball.
I would like to see a bit more pace in the team we can look laboured sometimes and I think pace buys you a goal you don't deserve sometimes.
Also feeling somewhat limited by the structure, I decided to concentrate on what is, IMHO, the most important signing this summer - an attacking, goal-scoring CM and therefore went for: (1) quick, (2) passer, (3) counter-attack as those are the qualities the present squad most needs. City's present CMs have those qualities, but not necessarily in the same player. Howson and Tettey have quickness to a degree, and they, along with Wes, have pass success ratings on 'Whoscored.com' over 80%, but quick counter-attacks have been few and far between this year. Thus I'd like to see an ACM who can act as deep play-maker with his passing, but also add pace to counter-attacks and either score or make the killer pass for others to score. Sadly, it seems we have missed out on Christian Eriksen, who has all these qualities. There must be others though! Maher or Van Ginkel perhaps?
I think I'll maybe think about this and try again at some point as the limitation seems to be bothering people. I do find it interesting to see what people like in a player.
An upgraded version if you know what I mean. I'm a big fan of Andrea Pirlo I always like how he keeps it together he can play an intricate through ball if he needs to, but he usually keeps it tidy, constantly moving around looking for the ball but he never drifting miles out of position his always there to mop stuff up and distribute, his a calming influence that would be great to have in a midfield.
