keep him till the end of the season, then so long .. farewell ... unless hes willing to take a giant paycut and we get him for next to nothing.
If he is on 40k per week then he needs to pull his socks up. If he can take a wage cut then he is worth it. He will get 20 odd goLs over the season.
If we get the Yakubu we got today then i would sign him no doubt but if we get the Yakubu we got on friday i wouldnt touch him. Over all if the price is right i would sign him as he will score loads of goals. We have had hardworkers in the past which havent scored goals now we have a striker that wont work hard but will score goals. Which would you rather. If we had 11 Yakubu type players on the pitch we wouldnt get any where but can you carry one? Tough choice but Sven will know whats best
Would be nice to sign him! But he clearly wants to play in the Prem next year...so we must move on and sign a 30 goal a year man if we want to make the Prem.
My statement still stands, even after this weekend, if hes willing to sign for a reasonable ammount (this is in both transfer and wages), then i would keep him, if not, i think Vassell would be just fine in Svens centre forward role, pressing on defenders and moving into gaps/opening gaps, rather than on the wings as hes been doing this season. But agree, if hes only after prem football, he could be off to QPR or another team that gets promotion this season, even a team in bottom half of the prem currently.
For me it would depend on the transfer fee and wages. If they are right for us then i would take him but if they are ott then i would either try and loan him again which is highly unlikely if not leave him. His ability is brilliant but his workrate is bad. His first goal yesterday was chasing a lost cause something he doesnt do enough and his 2nd goal was about class which he has in abundance. But if the owners are prepared to pay big money to get Real Madrid to come and play a friendly then i think they would be prepared to pay the money for Yak. I think it is down to him
I have watched him play too many games where he has offered absolutely nothing whatsoever to be clamouring for his signature, that said he has put in a couple of shifts like he did against Watford where his undoubted quality shines like a beacon - If Sven can find out what the trigger is to get that sort of performance out of him he is definitely worth spending money on although I would hate to commit to him and get the lazy side more than the creative
