Next week is the first of the "Big Teams" to arrive at The Liberty so I am going to make a full day of it. Has anyone got any idea what time the teams arrive before kick off?
Seen them arrive 2 hours beforehand, some an hour or so, I guess it just depends on the team I am in my uncles platinum box for this game though , the perks of having his company putting this as a business expense
when i was working at the 2003 Rugby World Cup each match had a detailed itinerary to the minute, dunno about the PL though
Jager, have you been in the exec boxes before?? or anyone else come to that matter? I just wonder how it compares to being in with the crowds??? Me and a couple of buddies often used to think of chipping in for a box, but I always thought you'd lose the feeling within the crowd...???
Not sure about not turing up Stan but one of yours left Fulham early to make sure he didnt miss his bus
There is nothing like it at times, but it's shirt and tie job, no swans strips there, you get food and drink and to meet the players and manager there to be honest I prefer being part of the east stand, but it's utd at home and couldn't resist asking my uncle if I could go there being a good boy and that lol I could go to most games there to be honest, as he is not a football fan but an ospreys one, could even go to concerts there as well. But honestly there is nothing like being part of the crowd, and the guys I sit with.
u r obviously a season ticket holder Jager so u r allocated same seat every week i assume and get to know the ppl around you?
Yeah I am, have had the same seat since 2005 , and some mates have been there since then as well, we meet up before every game for a couple of jars unless i run late lol , and time permitting go for a pint afterwards.
Don't think there really is a bad seat in the liberty, it's just past the halfway line towards the south stand, can remember going into the stadium choosing what seat we wanted when it first opened, you don't get that option now lol
Nope but you do get first refusal on the seats you have, you can renew up until I think mid July , then it comes available to anyone.
Mine will be a bit of grub in the Smith's. Maybe over the road for a couple of beers in the Hafod before heading off to the ground in time for a few minutes banter before the game. 1-1 win to the Swans and off back to the Hafod for one. May head to town for a Chinese with my wife afterwards. Bendigedig! (...and Yes, I did mean 1-1 win.)
10:30 players start to arrive at the liberty where players are checked and assessed if they are match fit. 11:30ish they go for light training session and the managers/coaches team talk followed by a video of who we are playing. A set meal is had by all before the players retire to the players lounge to rest and relax. At 14:20 they proceed to the changing room where Brendan will give another team talk, also the ref will pop in and give his talk and at 14:50 the players must be ready to enter the arena......
Add an extra two and a half hours to that for the game on Saturday, the away team bus would always stop outside reception so that the fans usually got a decent view of the players. However these days they usually get driven straight into the north west corner of the stadium so the fans get no chance to see or talk to the players. Our own players usually either walk straight into the stadium via that entrance from the north car park or will walk around to reception a couple of hours before kick off where they are quite willing to sign autographs or pose for photos.
i am only saying about our team at home matches, Away sides vary that some have been known to arrive half hour before kick off....
