"It is very difficult to find coaches with the enthusiasm and expertise to work in what is essentially the most important phase during a player's development. In being part of the FA, Marc has had the best education in how to get the best out of our eight-to-11 year olds."

Willie McStay has joined us as chief of the kids. Forgive me if I am feeling a trifle UNDERWHELMED.

Kids dont need motivation - they need education and skill development of the type being provided on the continent.
Scotland are not a world class nation for providing youngsters to the game with divine skills. They, along with their over-confident and over-hyped neighbours, turn out artisans, not artists ; players who will run all day even if they dont know why.

What Bristol City needed was a continental coach with experience of working in and setting up academies in Spain/France/Germany, who could breed a super race of young ball-players that might grow into a promotion team (circa 1970s).
With dear Willie on board, we will wallow in the mire of mediocrity and sub-standard young hoofers with which to carry our hopes into the future.

Well done City board. Another pigs ear of it

Bloody hell give the guy a chance, McInnes has brought in his own staff of who he thinks is capable of moving us foward, loads of us didnt like the sound of jim McIntyre but he must of done something right as we remained unbeaten, lets give people a chance before we judge them at least?

Clubs with really successful youth sets up like Palace Crewe Watford etc don't have continental coaches.,

Well said Shiny and three lions, let's give these people that Del chooses a chance.

We keep banging on about this, are here Continental coaches all queuing up to join our world wide know club?

As already stated clubs known for churning out youth don't have these sort of youth coaches.

Del is getting a team together that he trust to let him get on with his job.

Looks like a step in the right direction to me. It is about time someone looked at the club from the bottom up

My first reaction was that it was a step in the right direction - lets give the guy a chance - will take at least 2 years to see if it's working

Christ. The lack of signings means we're really finding anything to bitch about these days aren't we?
