http://foro.granadacfweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2001 Anyone out there fluent in Spanish? One assumes you are Mex???.. as OFH suggests, Google translate isn't quite everything it could be... Is this the start of a beautiful friendship or a marriage of convenience made in hell? They seem quite pleased that the Pozzo's have apparently ended their interest in Cadiz. Maybe we'll see them in the Europa League in 3 or 4 years time (perchance to dream)... with Udinese in the same group.... wonder what UEFA would say to that?
It wouldn't happen. Granada would not be able to enter the competition in the first place, period. An interesting side-effect is that if Granada (or Watford ) were to play in the UEFA Cup, and Udinese finish third in the Champions League group stage, I believe Udinese would not be allowed to drop into the UEFA Cup.
Watford doing its bit for Europe. Nice to feel wanted, after all the BBC hate us and the FA are not far behind. At least we will never need the FA tribunal again. A curious scenario, if all three were in the same competition. I can see UEFA getting uptight about it, but all three will have qualified from their respective countries on merit, and UEFA can always fix the draw - they do already with seeding - so where is the problem, unless the teams win through the myriad qualifying rounds and end up in a situation where even UEFA cannot keep them apart.
Como mola! El estadio, equipaciones, los aficionados iluminados, BIENVENIDOS AL BARCO Apparently he likes us, we're cool, good supporters, got a nice ground & strip and he welcomes us aboard. Spanish love bright colours!
YEah my spanish is pretty decent after over 5 years in South America. I'll have a good look at it a bit later and see que onda....
Right to summarise; The intro is a warm welcome, they are happy to have us aboard as a 'little brother.' It will be good to have the disposal of a wide variety of players. Other comments further down say thet we can be mutual beneficiaries. Some one remembers Elton John !! Another wishes us good luck. Further comments are about us being the 3rd franchise or the 3rd project of the Pozzo's. Finally some are not sure who we are or waht league we are in but this is cleared up. The wonder how our involvement might affect their own project under the Pozzo's but they don't seem to comcerned about it and are happy that we are united and that the pozzo's have further influence to strengthen their ownership. That is most of it from the thread.
Me encanta watford porque es hermoso y emocionante futbol Not done Spanish since high school... going off memory there
They go on to mention how the deal fell through (nice one Baz) then was back on. How they don't quite know. Saying that the fans hate BAz and the other director are against him! ahahahahahah Now it is offical and we are brother clubs. They mention A Young then wish us well for the season.
I've registered with that board so can ask some questions on the thread. Any suggestions of what to ask and I'll try to get my message across. Gracias.
great idea Mex, good to have communcation with them ...we should think of a bunch of questions to ask!
I am waiting too. Had a Peruvian girlfriend once back in the mist of the dawn of time and I still have a large Spanish dictionary and teach y'self cd's... or are they tapes??? Whatever, long forgotten 90% of what little I learnt. What I don't have is
My reading and writing is a bit bad, maybe pre-intermediate level. Howver, my speaking and listening is upper-intermediate level, as that is what I do most of the time. I've started classes here so that should help too. The Mrs doesn't speak any English, well a few swear words, and we can communicate fine given our gender difference !
Cheers. I've been wandering around South / Latin / North America for a good 5 years so I should be about able to hold it down with the locals !
