Dateline; Sunday 13 May 2012, Carrow Road. Norwich City v Aston Villa. In the last few weeks I've been posting about the abuse Steve Morison gets from just about every stand in the ground.....well this week some of the fans seem to have forgotten about him and turned on, and I can hardly believe this myself, Grant Holt & Elliot Bennet!? When Holt got booked for not retreating 10 yards from a free kick, a few fans behind me started with "you're ****ing stupid" and "****ing useless" now he's under pressure for the rest of the game! So fans in the N & P.......Grant Holt is ****ing useless is he? as well as being ****ing stupid? I DESPAIR! Early in the second half Elliot Bennet found himself on the left hand side of Villa's penalty box, a cross came over from the right wing, it evaded everyone and suddenly dropped at Bennets feet, he hit it first time and it cleared the cross bar by about a foot. A couple of people who were just to the left of the goal stood up and started pointing at the goal, and shouting general abuse. I can only assume they were pointing out where the goal was and that was where the ball was supposed to go! Finally, a certain section of support have already convinced themselves that Paul Lambert is on his way out, based on the fact that he didn't say 'see you all next year' after his speech on the pitch? Canary Call callers mainly! So in conclusion: Steve Morison should get on the next train out of Norwich and not come back. Grant Holt is ****ing stupid & useless. Elliot Bennet doesn't know where the goal is. Paul Lambert has already cleared his desk. I hope this makes all you moaners happy, as it seems to be the only reason you go to the games, does it make you feel clever, are you trying to impress other people with your vast intelligence and foresight? Everyone has the right to their own views and opinions, but come on, some of you are just being stupid, there is no reason whatsoever to complain about anything this season, it's been brilliant! ILD OTBC
I agree it is staggering the views some "fans" have. People just seem to love moaning, personally I wish those people didn't bother turning up. As for the Lambert thing people just seem to make a story out of everything its ridiculous
Can't say I heard any abuse for Holt/Bennett from the Lower Barclay. Quite a bit for the ref for booking Holt mind you and plenty of banter with the Villa fans. Morrison had a lot of applause when he was warming up from both the Snake Pit and the Barclay. If people were criticising Holt/Bennett then I agree that they seriously need a reality check and to get a grip. As for Lambert I reckon he'll stay but given the man's tight lipped nature I was not at all surprised by him not saying he'll definitely be here next season - I imagine that if Fergie/Dalgleish retire and he is offered one of their jobs at three times his salary he would leave in a heartbeat with no regrets and hopefully no recriminations. The great thing about where we are now is that he is in a club with a supportive board who are prepared to back him and he has the players he wants and the chance to improve on them. Imagine taking over the shambles that is Villa. Shocking team and no cash to spend with an owner who got rid of O'Neil and fans with expectations way above their status.
I'm surrounded by idiots every week in the n and p! I remember two fans getting out of their seats to have a go at a player, forgotten who and what for but it was pathetic. Anything that doesn't go Norwich's way in the slightest causes at least one person to have a go at a player. Absolutely stupid.
People seem to think that "I'm entitled to my opinion" means "My opinion is as valid as anyone else's". The only situation in which any opinion is truly as good as any other is when the issue is one of pure chance. If the question is: "Where is the roulette wheel going to stop?", my opinion genuinely is as good as yours or anyone else's. If on the other hand the question is about e.g. a City player's ability and worth to the squad, Paul Lambert's opinion is going to be better than any fan's. Simple really! Expressing an opinion reveals something about you, the person expressing it. So a question to ask oneself before letting fly is "Does this say something about me that I'm comfortable with?" One would however have to live in cloud cuckoo land to believe this would ever alter the behaviour of the serial moaners and boo boys.
Everybody is entitled to their own view but its amazing how any of your fans can be anything other than happy. Its a team that 3 seasons ago was in league2. Now to go through the period you have had is not short of amazing and its likely that that will come to a period of stagnation soon but just to survive should be good enough. Look at the QPR situation and the money they have spent and they barely survived. You guys spend 1/4 of the money and never looked in true danger. I cant see anything to grumble about tbh
It was in the N & P Norfolkbhoy, thats probably why you didn't hear it. I just couldn't believe any of it, I was on my feet doing my daft "GOAL" dance when Jackson scored the no goal, I didn't realise that the ref had blown, but even then most people were moaning about the ref not Holty, it was just a small group of "regulars" complaining about the "player of the season"! Most people applauded the Bennet effort, (it was a difficult chance), once again it was a few who chose to berate one of their own. The problem is that this sort of behaviour seems to attract others who can't think for themselves, and they join in to be part of something, it makes them feel big. I wish they'd just shut up! Well said ILD. You must be close to me cos I heard a few people have a go at Holt after the Jackson no goal. Are you in the upper tier?
He said what about about grant holt? I want names And addresses! And god ****ing help them if they said anything bad about lappin!
ILD, Tell the stupid sods that they are damn lucky to have a season ticket, and if they start next season with the same sentiments I will happily buy the ticket off them at more than cost price.
Yes Wonky, for this game I was in "S" section, but my normal seats are in the Jarrold. I've been swapping seats with some friends this season, just to get a different view. The Jarrold can be a bit reserved, but generally they don't moan like those lot of morons did on Sunday. I think I'll stick my proper seats next year, otherwise there could be a fight!!!!!! Glad I wasn't the only one who heard it! ILD OTBC
Doesn't matter what walk of life you're in, there is always the mouthy morons who can do the job better! I just look at them as being sad and insignificant.
I'm in the S section as well. I've had to deal with some of these idiots for years, including a very scary skinhead and worst of all a bloke who pretty much commentates on the match while ignoring his three little kids who seem to do anything but watch the football!
There was a bit of complaining in the Jarrold about the Holt booking but it was all aimed at the ref. Collins booted the ball at Holt, the ref let play go on until he realised Jackson was one on one with Given and THEN pulled it back for a free kick. As for those complaining about Lambert not saying 'see you next year' he hasn't said it at the end of the previous two years either. As far as I'm concerned he's our manager and until he or McNally come out and say otherwise I'm not in the slightest bit interested in any speculation.
