Sunderland echo is crap Northern echo not much better, i come on here and the most interest seems to be feckin wordle and word association.
Atm we are and have been in the turd division for several seasons. That alone is a very sore point. My guess is that the odds are against us gaining promotion this season. The away game to Oxford is crucial..to get into the play-offs (probably). Basically most of us would like to chat about anything other than football, its so fcuking depressing.
For me , any post on here , football and off topic , reading or commenting, with the other lads, reminds me that I have a better existence than all those “ look at the picture of my dinner” “ look at me me me “ Facebook slaves
Well said Gelders, as for the OP, it's us intelligent Sunderland fans exercising our grey matter and staving off Alzheimer's.
When I seen the title, I thought there had been a recent discovery of the original Marvin Gaye song that they "couldn't play on the radio".
Mate.... spot on. I was thinking of posting a thread the day before last of how "socials" have impacted mental health in a negative way. People post photos of their new nails, hand on the steering wheel..... but you must make sure the BMW/Audi badge is well in the frame. "Been getting a plant for the garden", just need to make sure the new build is in the photo aswell. Staged **** that has some people questioning their own lives. Sorry for the rant, but fake as f**k boils my piss. Stupid fads like "Squad goals", 7 dickheads in a photo, not one smiling, trying to look hard, pointing at the knacker next to them "the boys".
Good spot . In my defence- I didn’t take the picture, I didn’t eat the pie, I never even saw that pie, and I didn’t brag about it to so called Facebook friends.! As far as the recipe goes , no I don’t have it. The Gelders pies you buy in supermarket whilst being nice unfortunately don’t live up to the memories I have of them from 70,s match days . Don’t know if they’ve changed , or wether just one of those things where memory fades and you imagine what things were like. Besides that , remembering the 79s pies also brings memories of match days with the lads I used to go with them
As a teenager we'd try and fail to get a whole Wagon Wheel in your mouth. These days I reckon I could get three in there .. ... they've either changed them or my mouth has grown out of all proportion.
it is the way things have gone mate, i do facebook but only because it is a good way to keep in touch with 'rellies' around the world...i keep my distance from 'tw@tter' and 'p1ssedogram' and the rest but sometimes on here when there is no midweek game it becomes very quiet so a couple of threads to give everyone somewhere to interact on a daily basis seems ok with me. on the subject of the old newspapers, from the looks of things they all use exactly the same format now online and in my opinion the very worst part of it all is the 'clickbait craze', any headline to get you to the site and generate traffic then you get a few lines of no actual interest or much repeated news...so i have now been reduced to taking my phone to the bog when i need a dump so i can play some daft game rather than catching up on the days news in one of the tabloids.
