It is generally agreed that we have a bunch of very talented players, but which ones should start the game Saturday. It seems to me to be a very difficult choice. The starting line up v Udi was: Gomes (GK); Angella, Tamas, Ekstrand; Anya, Abdi, Andrews, McGugan, Pudil; Deeney (c), Vydra, with Bond (GK), Doyley, Hoban, Battocchio, Tozser, Dyer, Ranegie, Ighalo, Fabbrini on the bench.

Tamas didn't get rave reviews, so I would replace him with Hoban. Andrews didn't seem to do much wrong, but Tozer is a class player who I would want in the side. Toss up for me between McGugan and Battocchio, but I would go for the latter. Apart from that I would try the others again so that an understanding can be built up, but I doubt that many will feel they have an automatic right to play.

Personally would replace Ekstrand with Hoban. Ekstrand does make me nervous at times.

I'd also be tempted to play Andrews AND Tozser, with Abdi as the third midfielder. Think having both of those in, will allow the wing backs to go forward that bit more

Then it's just wing-backs (assuming we will be going with the 3-5-2 formation). I'd like to see Dyer on the left and Anya on the right. A lot of pace there!

    So first game for me;

    ------------- Gomes ------------
    ---Angella---Tamas---Hoban---
    Anya-----------------------Dyer
    --------Andrews----Tozser-----
    --------------Abdi---------------
    -------Deeney----Vydra--------

Subs; Bond, Doyley, Ekstrand, Battocchio, McGugan, Ighalo, Fabbrini

Seeming we still have Pudil, Parades, Cathcart, Murray, Fessi, Ranegie plus the youngsters like O'Nien, Smith, Doherty who you hope will start getting games - just shows how hard a job Beppe will have getting game time for so many, and keeping the all happy

The only other signing I would like is another keeper, to allow Bond to go out on loan and get game time - he won't develop getting the odd game here and there.

He'll just have to make sure we have decent runs in both cups... I agree with that team and really can't wait for Saturday - bring it on!.

I assume Andrews won't be eligible against Bolton because he's on loan from them? I'd play the same team but Pudil in for Dyer and Battochio for Andrews

I would like to see Dyer in the side just to give more pace with Anya..

    Wouldn't drop Pudli.

Battocchio in for Andrews as Chappers says.

Good shout! I think he'll play McGugan there, but would personally prefer Battocchio too

As long as they use the pace they both undoubtedly possess. Haven't seen enough of it from Anya for quite a while and Dyer has it in spades. MORE PACE!!!!

    --------------------Gomes--------------------
    ---------Angella---Tamas---Hoban---------
    Anya------------------------------------Dyer
    --------Battocchio-----------Tozser--------
    -----------------------Abdi-------------------
    ---------------Deeney----Vydra------------

Haven't seen much live football at Vicarage road for a while so the following is based on what I saw against Udinese.
I'd take Pudil over Dyer at the moment, thought when he came on he looked lost on the left.
I'd stick with the three that started in midfield.
I'd give Ighalo a start instead of Vydra who looked decidedly off colour. Not sure Ighalo will score loads of goals but looked like he'd create more space for Deeney with his movement and energy.

I think we have a very good "spine" to the team, which is very important--Gomes, Angella, Ekstrand, Toszer, Abdi, Deeney, Vydra. They would be my first choice starters . Then it is a matter of the "third centre-back", the two wing backs and the third midfielder, where there is choice but maybe less fan consensus. An important constraint is the "9 homegrown players in a squad of 18" rule. As I understand it we have Bond, Doyley, Murray, Anya, McGugan, Andrews, Dyer, Hoban and Deeney who meet this rule who are match ready players. . They will presumably be in the squad (if not starting) most weeks, with a youngster or two when anyone is injured. So when will Battachio, Forestierri, Fabrinni , Munari and Ighalo get in the matchday squad? Cup players?

aber, the FA have FA to do with the fixture list - it's the FL that sets the fixtures for the Championship.
