I do hope though they pick a 4-4-2 with pace down the flank with 2 attacking full backs so I'd go Marshall Brayford Connelly Manga Fabio or John if not fit Adeyami Daehli Burgstaller Noone or Pilkington if not fit Jones Guerra ie no Cala, Whitingham or Gunnarrsson
If they get a free hand at team selection, ex-centrebacks Gabbs and Young be defensive minded for the trip to Derby. Can't see them going 4-4-2 for this one. Got to be 5 in midfield and Guerra on his own up front would be a decent shout. As long as the 5 man midfield doesn't include Dikgacoi, I'll go with the OP's mix. Would tend to consider Pilks instead of Noone to start though, and the bench must include players that want to get out there and change the game if we need to - they also need to be capable of doing so. Eikrem and Burgstaller are not radical enough. I'd even take a chance on Harris getting a seat on there instead of those two.
OS, "Radical." Never heard that in football talk before. Like it I would expect Jones to start as I cannot see Guerra up to running around like a mad man with the real likelihood the midfield won't get up to support him. I think him and Jones with decent wide service can be a real threat in this league. I would probably expect Noone to be given a run out v B'mouth next week rather than risk him tomorrow. Harris might be a shout to give the flank some real pace?
whiffle, why adeyemi? he was very poor tuesday, whereas gunnarsson came on and tried to make things happen. i think guerra needs to play alongside someone up front, i doubt he'll start. jones will start as he is one of the few success stories this season, probably alongside macheda. when playing with confidence macheda is class and i'd stick with him. other than that i'd go pilks and noone on the wings. i still think we'll get beaten though, its been a poor season from the players.
I'd be surprised if we don't play 4-5-1. This would be my pick Brayford Manga Cala Connolly Pilks Gunnar Wits Adeyami John/Fabio KWJ Derby are a class outfit and I'd be over the moon to escape with a point. Daehli or Noone to replace Pilks on the hour. Guerra to be introduced for one of the centre mids if we need to catch up or try to nick it in the last 20. I'd hope that selection will be able to work hard enough to compete with Derby. We really don't seem to be able to win any sort of physical battle and away at someone as good as them being second best physically will result in a heavy defeat.
I'm surprised to see several of you going without a keeper. Brave move but foolish in my opinion. It's not for this game or the next, but 4-5 games out that we need to start playing a settled team. KWJ has shown he can score goals this season so has to be first choice though at the start of the season I was thinking impact sub. It's do you play someone just off him or goo all out 442. I think we will find ourselves in a battle at the wrong end of the table. Gunner wont let us down when it comes to a fight. So while I think Adeyemi and Ralls are far better (and im sure both of those will also be up for the fight) I wouldnt be against Gunner in there either. Noone and Guerra cant be fully match fit otherwise id have both in.
