I started thinking along the lines of the 4-3-3 but the more I look at the players signed and those expected to leave I keep thinking it is more likely to be 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-1-2 depending on what happens to Davies and Baldock. .......................................Fielding ...............Carey.................Flint................Williams Moloney..............................................................Cunningham ....................Elliott.....................Kelly ..............................JET ...................Baldock......Davies or .......................................Fielding ...............Carey.................Flint................Williams Moloney..............................................................Cunningham ....................Elliott.....................Kelly ....................Wagstaff..................JET ..........................Davies/Baldock something along those lines I think there would be plenty of goals there. but thats just my ideas I'm sure the big brains out there will have different formations and players in mind so what are your ideas?
4231 Fielding Maloney Flint Williams Cunningham Elliott Kelly Wagstaff JET Bryan Striker* the striker could be Davies Baldock Sharp, who ever this is assuming Albert goes
1-8-1 which confuses the opposition, then suddenly break out to 4-2-4 score a couple then go to 5-4-1 opposition totally confused with Taylor playing in defence..... a quick break to 3-4-3 score a couple more then back to 1-8-1, with the score at 4-0 and 15 mins gone time to settle down...play 4-4-2 having 2 strikers up front will draw their defence and before halftime it is 5-0 midway through the second half a couple substitutions to allow the younger, less than 23- y-o's to have a go and the game finishes 6-0....simples away from home 2-7-1 to start then maybe 3-4-3 back to 5-4-1 then a 4-2-4 etc away score 0-4 after 10 games won 7 d-3-L-0 gf 30 ga 5
I can see us playing a similar formation manchester city use to play under mancini 4-2-3-1, with no wingers, and the front 3 always interchanging with eachother. We haven't exactly got david silva, samir nasri and carlos tevez but I can see our formation a little like this.. Fielding Maloney ------ Flint-------Fontaine-------Cunningham Kilkenny-------Kelly Wagstaff-JET-Davies Baldock I still think we need a left winger and a shaun derry type midfielder. If we do get a LM who can tuck inside he would replace Davies, and Davies would be upfront rotating with baldock. Bare in mind Adomah will be gone, so will be not needed in a tested formation
It will be interesting to see how SOD manages this problem, as Wynter left Arsenal for first team football so I imagine he would be severely unimpressed to drop 2 divisions only to still warm the bench. This could become a problem keeping so many CM happy over game time, as I equally expect Marv,Kilkenny and Pearson will not be happy bench warming.
4-2-3-1 has to be the favoured formation, although it'd mean our wingers adapting to a more central role. Code: ----------------Fielding---------------- ---------------------------------------- --Moloney--Flint--Williams--Cunningham-- ---------------------------------------- ------------Kelly----Wagstaff----------- ---------------------------------------- --------Adomah----JET----Davies--------- ---------------------------------------- ----------------Baldock----------------- There's lots of room for rotation in this formation, so the likes of Wynter, Elliot, Kilkenny, Fontaine, Reid, and co will get plenty of time in the squad.
If Pearson and Kilkenny get upset so much the better if they decide to move it allows for more younger hungrier players to be brought in.
