how all so predictable it was. Tues we laugh at ffc conceding last minute. Tonight we lead with 15 mins to go and concede 2 mins later. Then 89. Not content with that we get a 95th minute red card. Same old Rangers .looking forward to 13th place if squad is not added to.
To be fair mate,Barnsley played some really good stuff tonight and are a decent side. We played some good stuff of our own,and it was needless fouls which cost us. We are a playing a new style, which entails high press and strong tackling. Unfortunately we are giving away to many fouls, and against good teams you will get punished for them eventually ! We have brought in some decent players already, and Ngbakoto is still not fully up to speed. Lynch and Borysiuk will be back soon, and add much needed cover. We are still looking to bring in a couple more, and I fully expect us to before the window closes. We have started well, but tonight is a reminder of how tough this league is.We have 6 points from a possible 9,that's more than Newcastle and Villa have, the first 2 in the betting for promotion. All in all I think it's a pretty good start from us,and there's much to be positive about !
I'm now worried about what's going to happen in the next 43 games. Thought it was going to be 46 wins.
It's annoying, but let's not overreact. Their third goal is clearly a foul on Hall, and their equaliser was a stunning free kick. Not much you can do about that. We go again Saturday.
Very few of us predicted automatic promotion, so to have beaten Barnsley would be Automatic promotion form. The fact we lost proves we are mid-table, possible playoff contenders, right where the table has us. Think virtually all of us know the squad needs a little more quality for promotion, so "don't panic Captain Mainwaring". Its how we responds to defeats that will show the character of this squad.
Could be worse. Three points ahead of Newcastle, a likeable team of hardworking players. How did people ever cope when things were considerably worse? If we finish mid-table, it's really not such a bad thing but, for now, we are doing well as a team and club.
The early signs are that the Championship is as consistently inconsistent as other recent seasons. I think we will do better than last year and could be involved with the play offs. I would be delighted with that.
It is all about "expectations" and of course it would have been great to have been 2 points clear at top yesterday. However, the FACTS state that we do have 6 points from 3 matches, thus exactly 2.0 points per game, thus a rate of 92 points for a full season!!! (Should we win on Saturday, we will have 9 points from 4 matches, thus a rate of 103 points for the season!) I would love to keep to keep our current points rate for the season. The reality is that we will probably slow down. As already mentioned, it is a question of managing realistic expectations.
Based on last season we'd need the following points: To avoid relegation- 41 Playoffs- 75 Automatic- 90 So a mere 23 more wins and we'll make the playoffs. Piece of piss.
True. It is not so bad, in fact pretty good. The difficulty is to maintain it for the remaining 43 matches of the season. But let's tackle each match one at a time, starting with a win over PNE this Saturday?
I rest me case . Add To it a deflection off someone's back and an Og. Don't get the positive air, sorry.
