    From 18th, 19th, 20th? I guess you'll finish bottom and Pardew will be sacked by Xmas.

    I want to be competing with Everton for 7th spot. Anything less and I'd be slightly disappointed, because we DO have the existing squad, the funds and the scouts to put together a team of that calibre. We just have to pull our fingers out, stop being stingy ****s and do it.

    We were close enough to doing that as it is last season with **** strikers for half the season and a depleted squad. One measly extra point would have seen us in 10th, and with an extra win (and we came razor close a number of times) we would have been 9th. Basically, with an extra drop of luck, and an extra drop of not losing a 3 goal lead in our last game of the season, we would have been much higher.

    With the funds we have, I'd expect to better that position next season. Not 12th, but the higher position we could have got last season if a little extra luck just went our way, as I think that's a better representation of the quality in our squad.

    2nd. I just think Man U might have the edge if the Wesley S deal goes through. However I think James Perch and Foluwashola Ameobi will be full internationals by January and heavily sort after. Whether we have the finances to hold onto players of that calibre once the likes of Barca and Real show their hand I'm not sure.
