According to the EADT today Jewell has stated that Luke Hyam may have to go out on loan next season to further develop his football education..!

F*%# me what is he talking about, Hyam has come into the team from being frozen out by Jewell for half the season, he has more than handled himself & has been close to MOM for the last couple of games, our performances in midfield & going forward are also vastly improved, coincidence I think not.!

The other point just who do you send a League 1 player out on loan too.?

    Jewell Out
    Clegg Out

I think he's in a roundabout way stating the reserve team level Hyam is used to is miles off the first team, and though he's done well he may not short term be the answer.

Also a bit of a challenge to the lad !

How about he just plays in our first eleven to further his development, or is that too obvious?

Why offer the boy a new contract and then send him out on loan? What sort of message does that send out? We are willing to help other teams' young players develop but don't want to spend time on our own. It will probably be the case that Hyam goes to a team, is made to feel much more wanted and valued there and the move becomes permanent. Another baffling decision that again, doesn't surprise me in it's stupidity.

PJ "Luke, we would like to offer you a new contract based on your determination and application in training, but unfortunately that doesn't make you good enough to play for us right now so we're going to send you out on loan"

Luke "Uh, OK boss, I will go somewhere else and try my best there to prove to you I can make it, maybe I can do enough without you seeing me day in, day out to earn another years contract"

**** me that's ******ed. It would not surprise me to never see Hyam in a town shirt again.
