I am worried that this final bid will be the one that pulls Modders away. 'Arry and Levy need to stick to their guns and tell the Chavs where to go. They cannot back down now.
We shouldn't take anything under 50M from that classless club It's the only way they will learn not to tap up players
It's going to be difficult, but I think that Gaddafi is right. We have to show that we are not feeding the "bigger" clubs our players. Chelsea did not do anything special to us last season. The only reason they beat us was from a calamity from Gomes and a goal that wasn't. Modric must see that we're a team on the up that had a small glitch last season because our strikers couldn't hit the arse end of a cow.
Does anyone else worry that if we do refuse any offer from any club for Luka, that we will see the pathetic tantrums and stroppiness that Berba displayed? I would like to think not, but I didn't think he would hand in a transfer request either, so who knows. On a lighter note, has anyone seen this? Funny as.... please log in to view this image
So their third and final offer is going to be around the value that their first offer should've been If they'd taken us seriously from the start and Modric didn't come out so publicly they might have actually got a deal done. It's far too late for that now, though, NO DEAL, Roman. Piskie, read through the previous Modric threads if you don't understand why we wouldn't sell.
At £35m you should be biting his hand off to be honest. ------------------------------------------------------------- And you should have took the 50/60 million Cesc was on offer for last summer, ...but you didn't!, because this time he's only valued at 35/40. You kept him another year with the promise of trophies...how did that go?
Let's see if this £35mm offer actually materialises, first. It could be just more old bollocks. My inclination is to say that no way we sell to that classless oufit, unless they pay silly money. Yeah, £50mm+
Just why the bloody hell are we trying to accommodate this Croatian by signing players just to keep him here. He is not that important.
I don't think anyone has said we are, TMT. It's more that we have similar ambitions to Modric, so we need to bring in some top players to get there, aswell as keeping our best that we currently have.
40m plus Drogba and subsidise his wages for two years then we should have a deal. As much as i want ****rich to stay, his public demanding of wanting to leave might cause disruptions to the squad. If he is unhappy then his heart would not be in playing for us and his performances will suffer. I would rather spend 20m on a decent replacement for him and the balance of the money on a quality CB and back up for Lennon. In theory i would love him to say that he will continue to give us 100% if he is not allowed to leave but we've seen enough of football to know that spoilt players usually get want they want. Spurs will still continue with or without him.
Thor.... He is massively important. If not only to show that we can keep hold of our better players and progress. But also as he is such a talented player, his quick vision of the best pass is incredible and the way he holds onto the ball for a small lad. It would be foolish to let him go, but if an offer of around £50m came in, then maybe.
Instead of Levy repeating 'He's not for sale', which clearly Roman is ignoring, you should do what we've done with Cesc, put a price on him. If Chelsea can't or don't want to entertain it, then Spurs should dictate a cash plus player deal - you're after a striker. How about £30m plus Kalou?
"then Spurs should dictate a cash plus player deal - you're after a striker. How about £30m plus Kalou? " And then the Russian gangster will just ignore that too
Maybe, but it will test his resolve. How much does he really want Modric? If you can get a nice big wad of cash, plus a player that you need. It's got to be worth a punt?
