Here are some comments to make all jacks proud, ive taken them from various online newspaper comments sections . Lets enjoy this glory its well deserved for all connected with the Beautiful game. "hope this doesn't come across as patronising, but there hasn't been a promoted team to the Premier League that I can recall who have left me with such a wonderful impression as Swansea (with an honourable mention to Norwich while I'm at it). Forget beating City today, as much as that underlines their achievements, to play in the manner they do - the team ethic, the passing, the pressing, the composure, the elegance - deserves the highest acclaim. Hell, I wish Man United could play like that. What they do need is more of a cutting edge, but there's time to improve, and what a platform they have established for themselves already. Brendan Rogers for Manager of the Year? How could he not be?" Gaurdian comment. ------------------------------- "I find it hard to see how Swansea get the confidence to take the piss out of ArsenalCity, and United possession wise, it's remarkable really. A for Sky, they can go **** themselves not showing the game, everyone looks forward to Swansea playing the top sides, do me a favour love and show a SUPER SUNDAY game, twats" Gaurdian comment. ----------------------------------- "Swansea were superb. Passed the ball quickly and accurately. Made Manchester City work extremely hard to play their own game by pressing. When they tired, they were very well organised. A credit to the manager for getting them to play in this manner. If they were to get a very good playmaker, I think they'd be in he running for the Europa League places" Gaurdian comment. --------------------------------- My favourite comment of the day!! "Imagine how good the Man City players would be if they were managed by Brendan Rodgers, played at the Liberty and wore the Swansea kit" Gaurdian comment. ---------------------------------- "hahahahaha! this is the reason i love football. the club with the least amount of money to spend in the epl wins over the richest club in the world. and i also love how swansea is playing, very dutch like" Gaurdian comment. --------------------------------- If you find more (ah,Luke Moore i will talk about him tomorrow) then please post on this fun happy thread of enjoyment
"I have a lot of respect for Swansea. They have come into the Premier League with no fear and play football how it should be played. Great Result- Dominated!!!!!" sun comment. ------
"Swansea deserved winners.... I was at game. The atmosphere was electric... City offered very little, and the majestic Swans march on... Balotelli is a lunatic" Gaurdian comment.
Just fantastic! To hear comments like this makes me glow with pride. Perhaps some will say that we are over-reacting to one result but to take on a team as talented as Manchester City (and, make no mistake, they ARE talented) and beat them playing the way we did, is a massive achievement. I remember the dark days, the bad times, the occasion when we very nearly went out of the league and I can scarcely believe what I am witnessing now. I wonder if Buck and the boys really do realise just how much this means to all of us. I have spent a lifetime supporting my club and have experienced all the highs and lows but I have never felt so proud of my team as I do now.
I think we are allowed to enjoy this result regardless of what others think Ivor. As you said yourself, not many fully understand what this means to us fans, having taken so much **** over the years and bouncing around the lower leagues, then having to put up with Cardiff flashing cash and their owner telling us to support them as they are the only team likely to make premier football etc,etc it brings a tear of joy to read glowing words, not from swans fans but from football fans in general!! Im really proud of the boys for the win today, there will be plenty to talk about regarding the performance and substitutions later, but i just want to enjoy my club basking in the media spot light and finally getting some well earned praise and respect from our peers! Swansea fans have had harder times than most, i cant quite beleive how we have progressed these last 3-4yrs i dont think it will ever sink in Not safe yet though !!
Actually Vetch i still have it !! the pain has gone after a course of antibiotics just waiting for my hearing to return properly now I do feel extremly happy though! even when the commentry on TV was very muffled and difficult to hear
Keeping your powder dry on Moore then, NJ? Yes, dark times come to every club - and don't we know it - so let's enjoy this while we can.
KJ- My views on him have been clear for a long time, same when routledge was getting unfair stick. Lots to talk about when i do my next article thats for sure! Im just enjoying this performance from the team, as somebody pointed out on another forum, to see DG come on and seek out Moore straight away and give him a big hug speaks volumes of our team spirit, that makes me really proud, to see all the guys pulling together, contrast that with toure and ballotelli haing a half time bust up and you see we have a special bunch of people at our club. No Ego problems at SCFC !! Im so so proud of my team, club and city, we are now on the home straight for survival a few more wins and we are safe...who would have thought this 1yr let alone 8yrs ago ??
"500 million for citys squad and lose to a team that cost less than 10% of that inc building their stadium. just proves having a big heart and team spirit is more important" sun comment.
Western(Cardiff)Mail-online.... Defeat sees Roberto Mancini’s side, who have topped the table since October, fall behind rivals Manchester United after their win at home to West Brom. And the visitors could have few complaints as they paid the price for an ineffectual display. For Swansea, the win moves them ever closer to survival, with a 14-point gap to the bottom three all but guaranteeing them another season in the Premier League. Swansea had already beaten Arsenal at their Liberty Stadium home and drawn with Chelsea and Tottenham this season, and their confidence was clear to see during a bright opening. Actually Norway ( good thread again btw ) I reckon we are safe, 15 points clear of the drop (14 plus 1 point for goal difference ) and those bottom five have very nasty games ahead and two of them have to visit us. Nope, imo I think we've done enough and shouldn't be looking down the table but up and wondering who will be our first opponents in the Euros
..a point off 8th! You never know, but I said at the start of the season we'd be mid-table, around 11th or 12th and I still think that. What a result if we could achieve that.
cheers Ffs I hope your right fella ! i predicted at the start of the season that we would get a total of 36pts and relegation, the way things are going 36 may well be enough, the mad thing is that we are 3pts off Liverpool with 11 to play, the last game could be a 6 pointer for europa league position if we carry on!! I dont want to presume we are safe until the math can prove it, but its looking very very good isnt it !!
Danny Graham tweeted after the game "What a win great support great effort ... Delighted for luke aswell" and also when asked what if he was dropped for him next game, Danny replied "its a team game" Just goes to show how close the boys are and the team spirit there is! Amazing result.
