Confidence on the pitch, which is something the fans need to help provide to counteract the constant negativity which has plagued Arsenal for at least five years.

****ing Amen to that. We seem to have forgotten the concept of the 12th man sometimes.

It has confused me for the longest time. At what point do we realise that slagging players off at the slightest of mistakes doesn't galvinise them? The press has been quite negative about Arsenal's chances year upon year and they've exceeded expectations. All we can do is be positive. Being negative can have far more serious repercussions (see: Blackburn).

I suppose that's what forums like this exist for, so that people can have a whinge.

What really gets my ****ing goat though is when people are getting on our players backs at the games.

I'm probably one of the more optimistic supporters on here. I don't see any value in slagging off our players. I hate the scapegoating and I generally try to see the positive contributions players make, even when they're not at their best. I know it grates on some people and there were those (who have kindly now ****ed off) who used to get their knickers in a twist over it all and start accusing me and others of being 'blind faithers' or 'Wenger apologists'

But one thing is certain, when some fans were slagging us off last season, saying Wenger should walk and that we'd end up mid table, I still believed that we would come good and grab a top 4 spot, which we did. I still think this team will get better this season too and I firmly believe that we'll finish in the top 4 again.

But Piskie....is that what you want? Being top 4?

The way I see it ...I rather we try winning the league and if we dont then I dont really care if we end up 4th or 8th or 12th (just not relegated). Therefore, I need someone who wants to take a bit of risks to win it.

Wenger is too stuck into his methods and it is not working for winning the league - it might be working for coming top 4 (but again, I dont really care about that achievment - especially since the benefit of being top 4 (money) is not really being invested in players).

I 'want' more than just top 4, but at the moment it's a realistic achievement and possibly winning a cup <ok>

The difference between finishing 4th and 8th or 12th is massive and it's not something I'd be comfortable with in any way, shape or form.

To be honest, I think we've been punching above our weight for the last few seasons, because Utd, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have been spending **** loads to try and secure champions league football. We've done it on a shoe string and with our best players leaving - We are finishing in the top 4 because of Wenger, not despite him

This I agree with - but why is that our top players are leaving and we are not investing like other clubs - even though our economy is fine? I think it is the board AND wenger. If wenger insisted on having money for player X and Y in order to compete with City, Utd and so on ...then I believe he would get it.

So we are punching above our weight and doing better than we should but still think it is because Wenger (and not despite).

A back up LB for Gibbs.

A powerful midfield player who can gives something different in midfield.

    Another CB.

    Another CF.

    Another winger.

Apart from that, we are fine.
