So one game left of another entertaining season in the Premier League. We look likely to miss out on goal difference to City and if we are honest we can have little complaint on the field.

Where do we go from here? New players are needed, dead wood needs shifting. We have been linked with a number of players already and seems we are in the market for new blood this summer. Will it be enough or will we be left behind next season?

Defeat hurts and as we have seen in the past Fergie will use this experience to build on next season, players who have never been in a title race to this magnitude before will have the hunger for next time. So near yet so far wont be an option next season.

    Scholes
    PIG
    Evra
    Berbatov
    Park
    Anderson
    Fletcher*

I dont expect all of these to be here next season so the squad will be stretched and we have lacked depth at times this season.

*Fletch wont be leaving but his illness may not allow him playing time sadly.

    Onwards and upwards United!

I would predict all of them will not be playing next year, with the exception of park and scholes, one for experience and the other for commercial reasons.

It has been obvious for 3 years or more that we need, firstly a real captain in midfield, a back up CM and a real striker to help rooney out. For me wellbeck and hernandez are not good enough to be starters if we want to be challenging as they do not have the ability to do it on their own if rooney is out.

It's been a strange season as we should have won it, but we cant get lucky all the time and we need to build on this young team we have developing. Jones and smalling need blooding together regularly and in the SAME POSITIONS. Fergie needs to make his mind up where he wants Jones. Personally I think he is too gung ho to be classed as a CB so I would have him sitting in front of a back four supporting a world class AM that we do not have

Welbeck has a big future and Hernandez will be a great impact sub. They need another top class striker though to strengthen us up top.

Anyway, been reading on FFP, very interesting.

EU - We agree with FFP, clubs will not be abkle to use EU law to challenge. ( City are ****ed )

Uefa Legal director - EU give us permission to ban clubs ( City gang raped )

1 title, was it worth it I wonder?

Ah you would think so but think about it...

No CL football so would the best players really sign for you? They would have to sell to be able to comply for the CL 2 years after so what sort of team will they have?

This. Does make me wonder - if City comply with the FFP rules and only spend what they earn, they won't get into Europe. So why won't they keep spending like bitches and win titles whilst also not getting into Europe?

They have 2 choices, dominate the market and keep winning titles, or comply and win **** all year after year

    What would you do?

Players want to play against the Barcelonas, Mardid, Munichs and Milans of this world, the best of the best anyway.

City are the club most at risk, I really do wonder if they actually know it or if they are going into it blind hoping for the best.

I would comply and secure my clubs future. Then again we are not moron who are desperate for success and desperation has cost many lives, careers, futures.

You'll have to forgive my tired ignorance here but who is PIG? Aside from that, we need an absolutely out of the top drawer attacking CM. Jones must be converted to a defensive kaiser style CM. We need a left back and we need a striker. Money has to be spent, a lot of it. We got away with it last season, we probably haven't this so changes are a must. We also actually need a right back but for now Smalling can play there. When Rio goes though, he'll be needed there.

Owen can be added to that list.

So did I, assumed he'd left. Might as well have. Let's be honest, we need to think about adding Giggs to the list too.

I would but Fergie wont, love the guy, complete legend but hes not good enough enough of the time and we dont need passengers.

If he stays I hope hes restricted to cameos and games where we are almost certainly going to control the game. Nothing against him but replace him now, Nani is ready, when he plays game after game he gets better and better but then boom and hes off form again.

Stability and trust in our younger players is what we need now, they won the title last year and almost this year, players like Nani, whether a fan or not have contributed massively. 20 goals/assists this season, more than Suarez in less games says it all and hes not even been at his very best due to injuries.

Right, coming back to this now I'm not pissing about on the phone app. If City win the league this season then they will win it next year also.
If they don't, unlikely as that is, I am 100% certain that they will next season.

The point being, one way or another City will win the league next season and we won't so now is the time to cut out the deadwood and get in some new. I know there are some decent prospects coming though but none are guaranteed so, as previously said, we need to invest heavily this summer.

I'd like us to get Bastian Schweinsteiger and try Jones alongside him, big wish of mine and I've been hoping we'd get him for what seems about 15 years now. Alternatively, Sneijder is still a gilt edged finished product who we could build a midfield around.

Eden Hazard seems very highly rated, I wish I could offer an opinion based on having watched him but I can't so I have to go on his rave reviews, which would unnerve me a bit. Not as unnerved as I would be if we ended up with Modric though who is ridiculously over rated and in no way on this earth cut out to play for our club. I'd rather have Tom Huddlestone if we're going to sign a Spurs player.

We need a striker, either of Ba or Cisse would do. Both goal scorers of big potential and neither will have his value trebled by scoring twice against Switzerland in this summers euros. (If the Swiss haven't qualified so what, you get my point). Both would also be relatively cheap, in Ba's case dirt cheap.

Left back to give Evra a run and eventually replace him is Baines of Everton. He'd fit the bill nicely in a goal scoring, decent defending non foreign type way.

We also need a right back, Rafael will never be a good enough defender. For now Smalling can do that job but ulitimately he will be needed at centre half.

Players who need to leave are as UIR said at the top and who we discussed. Giggs and Scholes need to retire really, Park, PIG (!) and Anderson need to leave quietly through the kitchen door and Berbatov and Owen sadly do not fit anymore. The likes of Macheda and Bebe should never be allowed back in through the door either, they are taking up space some young, maybe even local, players could fill.

We've not got too bad a squad, comfortably the second best in the league, but one or two need to realise that it takes guts and bollocks to play for United, not just talent.

Im finding all this bashing of Rafael quite perturbing. Does he go round sleeping with people sisters/daughters?

The good ive seen Rafael do far outweighs the bad.

Now Jones, he's fekking abysmal at fullback yet people say he's young and will improve. Go figure.

No, he falls asleep at crucial moments and costs us crucial goals. He's also rash in the tackle and shows no signs whatsoever of improving as a defender.

    Shame you hadn't noticed.

The thing about Jones is that he is not a right back. He is also just twenty and will more than likely improve, when he is given a settled position to play in, whereas Rafael has been with us for four years and hasn't really improved at all. Maybe he can play right wing eventually but he is not a defender.

You must have your head up your arse if you think Rafael hasn't improved this season compared to last. Also all defenders switch off occasionally, Evra still being a bigger culprit than Rafael. Name me 5 goals this season where Rafael is 100% to blame, hell if he's that bad make it 10.

Wouldn't say he's rash either, spirited is what I would use. Likes to get stuck in and hassle opponents. Sometimes picks up a yellow or concedes a freekick but any fullback worth his salt will do that.

My head isn't up my arse in any way shape or form, cheers though. Look, i prefer my full backs to be able to defend and concentrate for 90+ minutes. Call me old fashioned but I'm thinking Gary Neville and Dennis Irwin. With defenders like that you win titles and European cups, with defenders like Rafael you narrowly miss out as he will make mistakes and switch off. That may be harsh but that's how i see it. You'll notice i also said Evra needs replacing.
