will our leader PJ come up with? he has gone and bought new players to the club ,some good, some not so good ,his tactics for the most part are not working, the blame for this does lay with him,but we as supporters must stay with the club in these trying times though many of you are not with PJ.He should be given a little time for these new players to gel. Maybe if things are no better by the turn of the year then perhaps the club could once again be looking for a new manager ,BUT for the time being as hard as it is at present we should get behind the team and give them our full support ,things do turn around quickly in football ,and in a few weeks time we could all be singing PJ praises .................... or not.
Yes, exactly, I have used the 'gel' word recently and was shot down for using it. Now if I get transfered from one department to another at work it would take me a little while to get used to all my new colleagues, their way of working etc....so it is the same for footballers....however I do concede (forgive the pun) that if by Xmas we are still in a ****e position then a managerial change will be needed....until then we back Jewell and the players.
All this time to gel guff just makes me annoyed! They are supposedly professional footballers FFS! We have had 5 seasons now where the "Need time to gel" bollocks gets trotted out after every lame defeat. PJ hasn't helped himself by not getting in a proper right back. Starting with 4 Central Midfielders, no width or pace and playing Chopra up front on his own! Making Leadbitter captain when he shouldn't even be in the starting line up! Its not bloody rocket science. All you have to do is play your best players in the right positions and stop chopping and changing things.
warky ,my friend rome was not built in a day we cried out for new players , we got them it will take time be patient ,just for a little longer ,then we can see what is what .
it doesnt seem to be gelling though. Its not like we attempt something and it doesnt come off because the two players aren't on the same wavelength. It feels more like a lack of tactics or idea's in the first place. The 'gelling' may have some truth but surely a lot of things you can sort out in training. The movement, the prefered pass (to feet, over the top, ability to turn or lay off etc) should be evident from the behind the scenes preparation. It may not be brilliant so early in a season but they also shouldnt be strangers.
