I defend all Celtic players to the hilt. I have been one of Neil Lennon's best supporters.
Having said that Saturday's performance was not good enough especially the first half.
All I will say about Neil Lennon is that I think the balance of his selection was wrong.
Two attacking full backs and no defensive midfielder left us with only two defenders.
There is no doubt that even with that team selection it should have been good enough to beat Killie. I was worried after 5 minutes when we were not 3 goals up. Surely it was only a matter of time until we were 3 nil up as like us an under pressure Rangers team went to Rugby Park and were 3 nil up in 6 or 7 minutes. Surely Killie had lost their better players and would lie down.
They didn't and took full advantage of our no defence policy and went three nil up.
A bit of egg on the face of those who claimed that the last match last season was a fair contest.
Neil Lennon made a couple of changes including bringing on Wangama a defensive mid fielder. Not much improvement but at least back two were covered. Then our African full back came on and in seven minutes we came back to draw.
Did the players go all out to win, or was a draw satisfying enough.
I think they chose to settle for draw.
Nearly all the players failed to play well. O/K Stokes got 2 goals and that was good.
However I am not sure we could praise any of the players.
Neil Lennon needs to pick a balanced team and he needs to find out why so many of last season's who for the most part performed very well last season, but this season are only a shadow of themselves. Neil Lennon must identify the problem, come up with the solution and ensure his solution works. I think he has very little time to do this. Unfortunately we have not got the time.
If the players he picks don't do what he wants them to do, we have to change one of the best Celtic people we have had this century.
