He looked decent in spells at Swansea but was apparently unsettled, therefore I'm surprised he's looking for another English club. I'd probably take him though as he seems more defensively assured than De Laet, and I'd rather not see Simpson play for this club ever again.
I guess CR doesn't see this as a substantial enough upgrade from DeLaet, seems we're happy to wait until January at least.
Yeah. It's a shame because if he was offered a contract it was probably a sign that he was better and free!
