What line up would you be happy with next season?

With all these articles asking who we will sign, and how the supposed 35 million will be spent, what line up would make you feel extremely happy going into next season, and confident we could finish firmly in the top 10 or beyond?

I personally don't want us to sign much from abroad this summer. I'm very anxious about spending abroad, as we've had quite alot of stinkers, that have been simply ****e, or have taken years to get up PL standard.

Sturridge would be an ideal signing for us. Strong, class pace, good finisher and excellent strikers instinct. People criticize his goals saying 2/4 have come from oppositions defensive mistakes. And? A striker will punish opposition for the slightest weakness or error in their defense. Carroll did it plenty of times when he was here. Sturridge would be an excellent signing for me, and i think Ben Arfa would be brilliant behind him. Ben Arfa's crossing wasn't exactly spectacular, although i haven't seen enough of it, it was his through balls and pin point passing that caught my eye, aswell as his threat to the oppositions back four with his skill and pace. I could see Ben Arfa slotting through Sturridge and Best for a canny amount of goals like.

I think if Ireland hits some form during his time here, he'd be a great signing. We need a right winger with Pace. Gutierrez is a right wniger, but as plenty have said, he links up well with Colo and Enrique on that left side, so for the sake of chemistry, i'd leave Jonas there.

I'd like us to sign Van Aanholt. The lad looks immense. Phenomenal pace, decent crossing ability, cuts in brilliantly. I love Simmo, but i reckon we could sign better. I'd be happy with Simmo as part of our fullback cover with Ferguson.

I think Samba would be a good signing. Massive ariel threat that could definetely be a good replacement for Carroll from those set plays. He's great in the air, good strength, a good leader that could bollock our back four into shape when it shows the same lack of organisation it has done quite a few times, classic example, that shower of ****e we saw last saturday. We also look extremely vulnerable against set plays, and i reckon Samba could be part of a very strong back four. Coloccini's agility, ball control, decent ariel ability and tackling ability, Samba's strength, excellent ability in the air and good aggressive attitude. He want's to leave Blackburn, and i'd love to sign him, and i reckon he'd accept 50k a week. He's 26, perfect age. Not too old, but experienced.

I'd love to sign Krancjar, but cannot see it happening to be honest. I doubt he'd come to us. I'd also give Nolan as much playing time as possible, and i expect he will do, as i sadly don't see Ben Arfa ever seeing out a big portion of games in a season. He'll be constantly hacked due to the threat he is.

Thoughts?

I personally think it would be unwise to spend all 35 million in the summer, and there is simply no need to. We have plenty of quality now in midfield, and all we need is more fire power and tightening in defense. We don't need to go throwing money away, and we cannot afford to be like Man City, and buy a bunch of players, hoping that they link up well in their first season. A few additions is all we need.

I respect your decisions, but i'm not sure relying on foreign talent is going to do us much good. They come from inferior leagues remember.
Also i think we need a better centre back than Williamson.

 

Aye, I understand why you think that but I love foreign players so would like us to get some in. Agree with you about Williamson, couldn't think of anyone.. seen you put Samba, would be a very good buy imo.

didnt samba sign a new deal ? shortly after putting transfer request in?
would be a great buy imo underrated , cheap , strong , good tackler and bit of a leader at the back which is for sure what we need in there

Think I'd rather have Gameiro than Sturridge. Prices for Prem League players are just overpriced anyway.

 

6/8 mil would be decent price.

*I know it's an odd choice, but he is a beast! He's young, cheap and he scores a few as well. Also he's Ivorian(?)

Also think Gameiro would suit us perfectly. Great player if anyone's not seen him. A lot like Defoe - very good at a lot of things, but not great at one thing.
