Honestly, I think the day John Terry slipped in the mud and lost the champions league final a curse was put on Chelsea in European competition! I have genuinely lost count of the amount of stone wall penalties not given to you in european competition in recent years. Its staggering. And to top it all up, whilst I was writing this you conceded... rotten luck guys!
I always try and say you can't rely on getting pens to win games and on plenty of occassions we've lost matches from not being clinical enough when chances do come. But yes...it does seem like an ongoing joke that we just don't get pens in the C.L. 3-4 against Barca 3 against inter (Over both legs) evra one v united last year last night These are just off the top of my head, unbelieveable really when you think of how high profile these games are. And we went on and lost all those games so shows how important such decisions can be. Not just the pens either of those 8 or 9 examples, 3-4 could have resulted in red cards as well...basically refs bottling it.
