Last season, Warnock knew exactly what to do to get the best out of Taarabt and we were promoted as a result. This season, Warnock seems intent on totally winding him, substituting him early, dropping him, mouthing off about him in the press. What the hell is he playing at? We need Taarabt to be at his best or else we are seriously lacking in creativity and imagination.
The reason he took off Taarabt is because he was being kicked all over the park and Warnock didn't want our main flair player to break 70 billion bones in his legs.
He may have run out of patience? This is a possibility but his tolerance levels this season are obviously much lower than last if this is the case. The reason he took off Taarabt is because he was being kicked all over the park and Warnock didn't want our main flair player to break 70 billion bones in his legs. Don't buy this explanation I'm afraid.
He was suffering with mild flu during the week, maybe he was still feeling the affects of it,and Neil thought it would be better to bring fresh legs on!
Hope that it is true that Warnock was trying to protect him as Taarabt needs some serious man management skills to get the best out of him. Warnock did a great job last season in this regard but really seems to have changed his tune so far this season.
I seem to remember that the first half of last season Taarabt got subbed every game. The sky commentators picked up this annoying phrase 'the most substituted player in the championship' and kept trotting it out, even after it stopped being true.
to be honest, i was surprised to see Adel get back up after Drogba'a assult on his legs. Taarabt was always going to be a marked man in the premiership however think what was originally said was taken to the limits. Adel was kicked all over he place hence the reason for him coming off. Plus Spurs next..won't he want to prove a point to Harry for not giving him a chance?
Reckon he took him off because 1 he ain't fit enough for 90, and 2 he was giving the ball away by being over elabourate against 9 men, rather than just keeping hold of it with more simple short passes, like only Ali seemed to manage.
I did see Barton go over to the bench, and do that ( 'Lineker, point to his eyes, WC 90, thing ' ) as if to tell Warnock to watch out for Adel. I don't know if maybe that influenced the substitution.
Adel is in the paper nearly every day claiming that there was/is a big money move in the offing, I'd imagine Warnock gets sick of this and is just calling his bluff. But so far this season I'd say we'd be mad not to accept a decent bid for him as its looking like Adel just hasn't got the brains to make the step up. I hope I'm wrong because there's nothing I'd like more than to see him rip up the prem in a hooped shirt. I just can't understand how anyone can enjoy making such a tit of themselves on the pitch and in the public eye.
I must say I agree with the notion that he hasn't been made the best use of this season so far. Warnock has an awful lot on his plate and doesn't appear to have the time or the patience to create a meaningful role for Taarabt. It seems like he's being sent out to "get on with it" but Adel looks as though he really doesn't know how he should operate in the system, and when he inevitably fails to electrify he is hauled off in exasperation. I don't think he's going to shine unless a lot of attention is given to him by Neil, and there really isn't that time available.
The real issue is that Tarararararrarabat gives away possession far too easily and at this level thats heavily punished. When he's on song that's fine but when he gets ragged he's a liability. He reached that point on Sunday and Warnock took him off accordingly. Right move to make in my book.
Got to say that this is a really good point. I think Taarabt just needs to be told, you’re either sitting in behind the front man AND stay there, no wandering around, or you’re gona be playing wide and switch it up with SWP. Just one role that he can get used to playing in as opposed to his free role last season which he is probably mentally still trying to do. As for all the junk you read in the papers about Adel banging on about better offers, I would take this with a serious pinch of salt. Papers seem to make up whatever they want, and it is just as likely a fabrication of some quote as it is actually from Adels mouth. I would much rather have him in a hooped shirt than warming the bench at some other club
