I'm (being forced into) watching Dancing on Ice and it made me think about how terrible Ice Hockey is.

This led to me wondering which is the worst sport in the world - on the whole most American Sports are god awful (NASCAR, Ice Hockey, and baseball to name just a few) but what, in your opinion, is the worst sport ever?

Consider this thread a 'Room 101' for crap sports.

Gymnastics for me, lot of jumping and prancing about with no conceivable method of scoring to us mere mortals

Tennis - I have total hatred towards the sport there is nothing more embarrassing then watching grown men standing with their mothers on Henman Hill every summer with their faces painted acting like their at Goose Green.

Snooker - It's like a really serious stuffy version of pool but obviously with different rules, it still looks like it's being held at some smoky leisure centre in the 1970's.

Great shouts with the previous sports mentioned btw <ok>

This will piss a few off but Cricket... Cannot stand it.

Apart from the appeal of standing around drinking in the sunshine I just it slow and boring. Maybe 20/20 would be better for me. Always hated it.

Does winding the binners up count?

I try and resist it but is so tempting.

They are such good sports as well.

If you support stoke then football, otherwise anything American, heavyweight boxing for the last decade curling, ufc - two muscular men for the main part cuddling and rugby league. Agree with a lot of the others, except golf, great to play, agreed a bit rubbish to watch.

Weightlifting is a bloody terrible sport. Rubbish to do rubbish to watch. Should be used for training purposes only. On the flip side one of the best sports is beer pong

Olympic walking - How can anyone brag about being a gold medallist in walking?!? Who would give a ****?

Equestrian/Horse racing - The only sport where an animal does the sporty bit and the human just claims the medals. OK motor racing could be seen in a similar light but the vehicle does require a large amount of human interface. The horse doesn't need the man on its back to remind it not to run through a ****ing hedge. Greyhounds can run races on their own why can't horses?

Diving - Jumping into water upside down. Need I say more....?

Synchronised Swimming - Dancing in water is not a sport.

Just thought of a couple more:

Tchoukball - To score requires someone throwing a ball at an ice hockey goal with a tight net so that the ball can bounce back. Trouble is one of you team mates has to catch it, but it depends how they catch it, where they catch it, if they catch it at all and also if the opposition catch it or not and what they can score if they do or don't catch it. What a load of bollocks.

Handball - For people who can't play football or rugby. Its basically a team full of goalkeepers.

Any event, cannot call it sport, that gives marks for artistic impression.

F1 most tedious sport in history - had the misfortune to go to the Bahrain GP a couple of times when I was working in Al Khobar. Hot, noisy and devoid of any excitement.

And why do snooker players need absolute silence when darts player can hit 180 in a crowd louder than porterloo road?
