Yeah but they are not really top leagues...some leagues are equivalent to our Championship at best Belgium, Scotland, Russia, Greece, Turkey etc etc have teams in the CL...you could get to the quarters playing poor teams..then anything is possible. In the PL you have to play some seriously strong teams...no two ways about it
Premier league. You have to be consistent over a much longer period of time. In the Champions League you could win the tournament and only have to play a couple of the very big teams. The overall class of the Champions league is stronger but in the premier league we have a very strong top 6 overall so there's loads of really top, tough fixtures for the winner to play every season. After the top 6 we probably have about another 6 clubs that could compete competitively in the Europa league.
The Champions League has been devalued they let any shhite team in it now. The old European Cup you had to be true champions, not some tinpot trophy less fourth placed team like Tottenham
deffo CL. how many times have our top clubs won the CL compared to how often they win the league. theres your answer
Yes, true champions. Liverpool, Man Utd, Celtic...even fooking Nottingham Forest were more class than Tottenham, and at least Forest won the fooking league.
The last time an English club competed in the UEFA Cup final (the old Europa league) before 2000, was in 1984. So we are getting better at it.
