As the title says, read a bit on here about it and would like clarification. No 'mota' jokes, we can grow that where we want.
As I understand it 6 of the 18 match day squad have to be home grown. Qualification is that they have to have been registered with an English or Welsh club for 3 seasons or 36 months prior to their 21st birthday - if they have not been naturalized, as Almunia was. Bondie, Doyley, Hoban, McGugan,Murray,Anya, Deeney and Dyer all qualify. Apparently there was a vote taken over the summer about increasing this to 9 - I don't know what the result was - and it certainly wouldn't apply for this season.
cologne, I thought Andrews also qualified as he came through the Wolves academy and his whole career has been spent in England - is there a reason you've left him out? Also, I think the Welsh clubs only applies to those in the English pyramid system - if a side in England were to sign a 22 year old who had previously been only with a Welsh Premier League club, he wouldn't count as home grown.
