As im having my one man protest like a petulant child at the lack of replies to football threads.

    What is life?

(Its my roundabour way of not doing a football thread)

Everyone see's the draw with Arsenal as some kind of victory. Victory in what?

Staving of relegation for yet another season

    Are you happy with that?

    Another season of abject failure.

Do you run your life by these same measures. Happy to scraoe by?

Are you a go getter or a pillar box,who sits and wait?

What do you realy want from life, deep down?

I want to do something creative. I want to be in a position where I can say "yes. I did that and it's right"

Comm, I don't think any of us settle in life, just like I don't think any of us are happy with the season SAFC have had. However, I would say most of us didn't follow Underland out of choice, I know I didn't. I was taken to Roker Park because my dad was a fan and I became hooked. Now I wouldn't have it any other way!

But I see the sentiment in your message, we cannot keep accepting this mediocre football that we are being served up season after season. But as we don't control the buying of players, the coaching of those players or the attitude they go out onto the pitch with there is not much we can do apart from stand there and try to show them we care. Hoping that they will respond to our cheers and the epic noise we are capable of making.

As much as it frustrates me to see us in this predicament season after season and continuously hoping for a ray of light, it won't stop me from being an ardent and passionate fan.

Aye. But you are a go getter. You have worked and strived for what you have.

I dint beliwe for one second you are happy with mediocre at best.

You havnt ram your life that way (so it seems)

Why are we accepting medicority in football so easy.

Does it have a connection with life?

I didnt want a purely footy thread. They are boring.

I think it's human nature to settle. Example: how many people do you know who are in a marriage that they are not happy with but they stay in it because of the kids and because it's easier and comfortable. I know that I know loads of people in that predicament. I think we are all guilty of settling to a certain degree in our life. Whether that is with our relationship, job, car, house etc.

I decided to go out and try something new, but trust me when I tell you that it took me a few years to make that decision and actually do something about it.

Who the hell would be happy to scrape by? No one.

It's been a miserable season. But we are where we are and now it's all about survival. Yet again!

And it wasn't some kind of victory. It was hard-fought battling, gritty 0-0 draw, that took us out of the bottom 3.

    Silver linings Comm. silver linings.

    My bad!

    Still striving! Never satisfied.

56 and still looking to move upwards, while most in their 50's, 60's are looking to downsize.

I love my life, I feel I can do much better achievement wise but I reckon if I work a lot harder I'd have to sacrifice parts of my life that I get the most reward from.

Football results really don't affect me unless it's a huge cup game or similar, I don't live for sport I'm not naive enough to think ill ever get a fair deal from sport.
