I think their fans and pundits have been humiliated so much in recent years that they've begrudgingly tried to become more realistic. It's always seemed a bit false though and the longer they're top the harder they'll find it to not get carried away. Lawro is just getting in there early, soon enough they'll all start crumbling like dominos and predicting the return of the glory days. It certainly has been an open start to the season but it's far too early to think that this will be the tone for the season though. One of the main things with Liverpool is that given their form in recent seasons all clubs playing them feel it's worth going on the attack against them. If their form continues then they'll see a change in the way sides are setting up against them. We had the samething happen to us after we finished 4th, all of a sudden teams were playing a far more defensive game and looking to frustrate us before nicking it on the counter and we didn't cope with it well. One step at a time Liverpool fans, no one has every secured top 4 in the first 4 games so best not to read much into the opening results.
I don't think he means based on results, yeah, we're on current good form, but overall, nothing outstanding about us, I don't think that's an unfair assessment. There isn't one team at the moment you look at and say "**** me these guys look like they're going to dominate". But that's even better, gives us a good chance to compete.

Until today, Liverpool were the only "Top 6" team who didn't look like they had major issues which needed sorting. Man U have their midfield problems, Chelsea have the issues with re-adjusting to Mourinho's playstyle, Tottenham's team hasn't gelled yet, Man City are simply being a bit kack, and Arsenal have added a top quality player but still have several areas which they look weak on (one of which is our defence). Liverpool looked oddly solid until today even without Suarez. Stop being children about it.
